I cannot believe this. The 2024 NHS pandemic plan states the following generic assumptions:
“it will not be possible to halt the spread of a new pandemic virus, and it would be a waste of public health resources and capacity to attempt to do so.”

This is a rare photo of Donald Trump from 1934, helping Albert Einstein finish the theory of relativity. According to Trump, Einstein had been stuck for weeks.
“Very smart guy. Terrible with numbers. I looked at the board and said, Albert, put a little 2 up there. He loved it."

This is the man pulling Starmer’s strings.
But did you know that in his youth, Morgan McSweeney lived on an Israeli settlement?
I’ve been doing some digging, and I can’t believe what I’ve discovered…🧵

Every day.
Every day there is an announcement about this government that betrays the country and its people.
How much more damage can we stand.
This news was sneaked out via Cabinet Office website.
“Sir Keir Starmer is preparing to tie Britain to the EU’s net zero plans in a move that would impose radically stricter clean energy targets on homes and businesses.
The Prime Minister and Ed Miliband, the Energy Secretary, are negotiating for Britain to rejoin the EU’s internal electricity market, which treats the 27 countries of the EU and Norway as a single borderless power grid.
The EU will only let Britain back into the system if Sir Keir agrees to the bloc’s ambitious targets for renewable energy, which would require the UK to decarbonise not just electricity but also heating and transport rapidly.
In practice, it would mean net zero targets would need to be doubled.
Claire Coutinho, the shadow energy secretary, accused the Prime Minister of “surrendering control of our energy system to bureaucrats in Brussels”.
She said: “UK ministers will be forced to reduce emissions regardless of what it will do to people’s energy bills or the competitiveness of our businesses.”
Telegraph
In short UK energy policy would be subject to EU jurisdiction.🤨

What Israel is doing in Gaza is pure evil - barbarism that’s enthusiastically supported by Donald Trump, Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron and Friedrich Merz. They support this daily violence, fund it, arm it, and provide political cover for it…

Who saw this coming..
🇺🇸 Trump has put Starmer’s £31bn “tech prosperity deal” on ice to force the UK to drop its digital tax and weaken food standards.
This isn’t partnership - it’s leverage.
Brexit left Britain negotiating alone and now Washington is using investment promises to prise open our rules and force chlorinated chicken and hormone beef on us.

Sorry, I'm out of date - it's actually 7.8%! Oh thank you so much, rich 1%, you own 16.5% of household wealth - plus God knows how much more hiden away - as much as the bottom 54%. And there are no official figures for your job-creation claims. Surprise. xitter.gq/ProfHall1955/status/19…

1. The rich contribute 7% to the total tax take and many avoid tax by offshoring. If a few of them leave, the effect is minimal, taxes don't pay for public spending anyway, and their withdrawal from luxury markets is counter-inflationary. Better to create jobs for the many, which will stabilise effective demand and broaden the tax base.
2. The government doesn't 'borrow money', it offers safe savings accounts to GEMM banks who are the only ones allowed to buy bonds at the primary auction. Government spending is through new money from the Consolidated Fund. Secondary bond markets are a disciplinary mechanism - they can jack up yields to influence primary sales, depreciate the currency and reduce investor confidence in a nation. This is anti-democratic. We need international agreements to stop issuing tradeable bonds and governments need to stand firm on low yields - banks don't want to lose their GEMMs status by refusing bonds so they won't do so. The problem is 'captured politicians' in Western nations who believe in doing what 'the markets' say.

'Privateering', or state-sponsored piracy, was abolished by the Declaration of Paris in 1856. The US refused to sign it. Nor would it sign the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, which compels nations to prosecute private piracy. The US is not a civilized nation.

Not only is this system devoid of empathy, our very culture treats empathy as charity, not obligation, so that our only available support in a time of need ends up being the very dehumanising, exploitative system that never cared for us in the first place: capitalism

The problem with “do your own research” is that most people aren’t doing research - they’re going confirmation shopping. Experts get things wrong. But non-experts? They get lost before they’ve even found a real data point.

At no point during the five-year span that Monty Python's Flying Circus aired on the BBC, from October 1969 to December 1974, could the greatest comedic minds of their time come up with a skit more grotesquely absurd than Trump placing a fake peace-prize medal over his own head.

🚨 Another Brexit disaster buried today
Talks for the UK to join the EU’s £130 BILLION SAFE security programme have collapsed.
Prospect:
“Job-destroying Brexit vandalism”
Joining SAFE would have meant:
🔹 Thousands of UK defence jobs
🔹 Major contracts for British industry
🔹 Closer ties with EU allies
🔹 A stronger, safer Britain
Instead we get nothing … again.
Brexit keeps shutting doors.
This government keeps pretending it’s fine.

I have seen more genuinely engaged emotional outrage today from the British media and political class over the banning of violent Israeli football fans,
than in two years of tens of thousands of infants being horribly killed and mutilated in Gaza.

Interesting narrative being spun about the Maccabi decision.
English teams have had fans banned from attending European games in the past. On those occasions, whilst recognising most English fans aren't thugs, our MPs supported the host country or competition organiser's decision.
In November, the team played Ajax. The night before the game, their fans were filmed pulling Palestinian flags from houses, making racist anti-Arab chants such as "death to Arabs", assaulting people, and vandalising local property.
On the day of the game Maccabi fans were ambushed leading to running street battles and rioting.
Later, a group of Maccabi fans were filmed assaulting people and damaging property in Damrak.
When foreign police perform a risk assessment and say the risk to property and individuals from visiting fans is too great, they're supported.
When our police perform a risk assessment and come to the same conclusion it's weak and we should 'send the army in'
If any team's fans can't be trusted to respect our property and residents then they should be watching it on TV.

The journalism around the ban on Maccabi fans in Birmingham makes you despair.
At @DoubleDownNews we exposed what happened the last time Maccabi fans visited a major European city - and the appalling misreporting. They are now banned from Amsterdam.
