Two years into #Brexitdisaster, the UK still has no customs regime in place for EU food imports. Gvt daren’t introduce necessary health controls because food inflation already so high. Another fine #Brexit mess. No wonder so much voter regret. #LibDems #NFU #Farmers

Recent Data from the #UN showed Britain endured the worst exports record of any member of the #G7 besides Japan over the last decade.  A consequence of #Brexitdisaster which no amount of Far Eastern trade deals can overcome. #LibDems #Brexit

A lot of truths in this, even if I think we are acting like Sid James in Carry On Up the Khyber in the scene where the embassy is under siege. nytimes.com/2023/07/21/opini…

Just for clarity the 0.08% benefit of the pacific trade deal does not off set the 4% loss of GDP from Brexit it is already in the calculations. Without this deal the damage would be 4.08%, now it is 4%, as expected.

In case you were on a different planet and missed the big news, we have now had 11 days in a row setting new all-time modern global temperature records, peaking at 17.233°C on July 6, quite possibly the hottest 11 days globally in the last 100,000+ years. washingtonpost.com/weather/2…

None in the MSM comment enough on why UK continues to run scared (4 times postponed) of getting its Brexit fully "done" but instead continues to subject its citizens to an ever expanding smugglers' utopia. (plus favouring EU's exporters over its own & the breaking of WTO rules)

Liz Truss said her recent visit to Taiwan was necessary in order to "show solidarity in person with the Taiwanese people." What she didn't add was that she was being paid £80,000 by a think tank to go there.

Going to write something proper about this later but the numbers are awful. 24,000 school buildings that are past their design life. 24,000.
🏫 The condition of a school's buildings can have a negative effect on pupil attainment & teacher retention. Yet 700,000 children in England attend a school that needs major rebuilding or refurbishment work. Our report looks at the scale of the problem: orlo.uk/hrla4

“I know of no other example where the prime minister has overruled intelligence advice.” @C4Dispatches uncovers how Boris Johnson chose to ignore security advice and make the son of an ex-Russian spy with alleged links to the Kremlin a member of the House of Lords.
