I was the reporter for the press pool this afternoon when Kamala Harris, with David Crowley, launched canvassers from the Dems office on Milwaukee's northwest side. A playbook from the right we're seeing more and more often:
- Bogus complaint is filed
- Bogus complaint becomes "news" through a bad-faith actor in right-wing media
- Campaigns run ads based on the bogus complaint
- The complaint never actually goes anywhere because it was never legitimate to begin with, it gets dismissed and quietly goes away
But the intended damage had already been done. It was never about any actual problems or any actual accountability, it only existed to serve the campaign. We need to be more vigilant about calling these ginned-up "complaints" what they actually are: Wasting public resources on blatant media manipulation.

Common Sense for Tom Tiffany & Bryan Steil is voting for federal tax breaks for data centers that hike our utility bills and harm the environment—then say that they will hold Data Centers accountable.
For 15 years, Tom Tiffany & GOP legislators underfunded local govs like Milwaukee County. When we nearly went bankrupt, they let us raise the sales tax 0.4% instead of returning more of our tax dollars. Now they blame David Crowley, who fixed their mess.
Tom Tiffany has been open to toll roads. As a State Senator and member of the Joint Finance Committee, he voted for a multi-million-dollar toll road study.
WATCH: Not only will @DavidCCrowley raise your taxes, but he'll pile on INCREASED vehicle registration fees, title fees, and TOLLS on Wisconsin roads.
How does this help with affordability?

Tom Tiffany declined to interview with Wisconsin Public Radio following last week’s debate.
He clearly still doesn’t have a plan to fund all of his campaign promises.
Wisconsin Republicans have controlled the legislature for 15 years but did nothing to fix rising property taxes, utility costs, or affordability despite complaining.
They control the purse strings! Nobody else!
