When it launched, they also sold a lot more different things, so each visit you'd always find something new. E.g. they use to sell a lot of items about to be discontinued, stock from warehouses clearing their stuff, etc. Now its the same stuff they sell all the time.

To be fair, it was hardly a secret that this happened - that companies made smaller versions especially for pound shops to keep costs down.

Part of the problem is its no longer a pound shop! Plus other discount stores (e.g. Home Bargains) seem to have a better choice of items.

Its also the same stuff from big brands or their own brands. Unlike in the 2000s when they sold a lot more stuff from warehouse clearances, discontinued products, etc. so you'd find different things each time you shopped there!

The second one - looks less AI.

That's my thoughts too - Steve found out about how Frank does later on. If he'd known about it in 1999 he'd probably have used it against Kim at the trial and while he was plotting with Chris Tate!
