"Everyone is nice and kind and I always feel welcome."
School libraries play an important role. They offer a safe and inclusive space for students to recharge, socialise, read and study.

Emilia is a Year 7 Orion student who's been devouring books from our library. She's a big fan of Robin Stevens! With her reward card complete, she's won a shiny book badge and a postcard 🏆🏆

Our foodbank appeal in conjunction with @PurleyFoodHub was a great success! We collected 5000 items for this amazing local charity. Thank you to our families for their generosity, and to Abbie & Taryn in College VI for organising the collection 🌟 🎄

Maya in Y7 chose to spend her Jack Petchey Achievement Award grant in the library so we asked teen writer Sarah Mussi to run 2 creative writing workshops today. We hope this will boost our young writers' confidence! ✍️

A little shy at first, our #carnegie #shadowing group members soon became animated when talking about the books they'd read over Easter. Thank you to Isabella for her lovely cupcakes, and to M for producing a great booklet for the group! @CILIPCKG #ckg22 #libraries @RiddlesdownC
Thank you to all the parents who took advantage of our online @scholasticuk book fair. It's allowed us to collect enough reward points to get new books for the library! These popular titles should keep some students entertained for a while 😊

ALT Illustrations of shamrocks with the words: 'Happy St Patrick's Day! Which Irish children's books, authors or illustrators are your favourites?'
Our library monitors have been counting down the days! Now that the shortlist is out, and the books freshly unpacked and processed, we are recruiting a few more students to join our shadowing panel.
We are delighted to reveal the 2022 Yoto Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medal shortlists!
Celebrating the power of friendship and pictures to create empathy and connection, we hope this year’s shortlists will inspire and empower young readers. #CKG22
