One of my favorite parts of elementary school was when a teacher or the librarian read a book to us using all the proper punctuation and inflections. It made the books come alive. Like Where The Wild Things Are. What was one of your favorite books they read?

A lovely illustration of why β€œschool readiness” must have as much to do with schools being ready for children as with children being ready for school.

Some students need you to believe in them until they believe in themselves. Some adults do as well.

We can’t ever become so professional that we become callous to what kids deal with. It’s great when educators hold on to a tender heart.

Great teachers make it look easy… but they actually work really hard at it. Greatness never comes without commitment and sacrifice.

Sometimes, kids make bad choices… but it doesn’t make them a bad kid. I hope we communicate that message to our students. Tomorrow is a new day!

Knowledge alone is not power. Students can Google most anything. But the application and execution of knowledge is power. That’s why in a tech world, the TEACHER is still the critical piece. Helping students make real world connections/application they may not be able to make
