I know everyone is focused on Texas and Mississippi but South Carolina is still the biggest shocker to me.
I would never have guessed that Andrews would somehow manage to win. And not only that but she won by a decent margin.
NYT: South Carolina Republicans Fracture Over Stunning Defeat of Darline Graham
As Republicans sift through the wreckage of a historic midterm drubbing, one state has especially rankled them: South Carolina.
It was among the most conservative states to elect a Democratic senator in a sea of upsets on Tuesday, prompting some state Republicans to hunt for strategic errors beyond the difficult national environment that might have contributed to their loss of a critical seat
In public and private, Republican operatives, aides and elected officials have torn into each other over who is at fault for the election of the state’s first Democratic senator since 1998

SpaceX and Tesla have prospered in Texas, because we were not constantly operating under an oppressive and extractive state government.
And I need to be close to the factories, so that I can walk the floor in person. That’s why the first major SpaceX factory was in LA and first major Tesla factory was in SF Bay Area.
As California became increasingly difficult, due to extreme taxes and overregulation, we moved our major domestic expansions and HQ to Texas.

The Democrats who won the hardest states, like Andrews in SC and Colom in MS, don't want to vote for Schumer because they ran against the DC establishment. Schumer and Jeffries represent that establishment.
To keep this majority, we need to not make sure they don't take such an unpopular vote as their first act. We need someone other than Schumer and Jeffries for leader.

This is why the Minnesota DFL wins elections. In fact, we haven’t lost a statewide election in two decades.
Ken Martin: "I believe the way you win elections is the way my first boss Paul Wellstone taught us. It's not about who raises the most money, it's actually who can inspire the most people -- door to door, neighbor to neighbor, person to person. That's how you win. And that's what this election showed us."

What good is winning an election, when the speaker & the majority leader are entirely out of step with the American people on taxing billionaire wealth, Medicare 4 All, ending relations with Israel, releasing Epstein files, addressing Wall St/corp greed, & holding POTUS Mob Boss accountable???

Pete Hegseth is treating a looming impeachment vote as a political campaign, not a reckoning over his performance as defense secretary.
He’s assembling an aggressive defense team, posting pictures with Stephen Miller and declaring that “patriots” are in control. He wants his fight to become a test of loyalty to Trump and the MAGA movement.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon is running a war with no clear strategy, senior military officers have been pushed out, and even Republicans are questioning Hegseth’s leadership. Thom Tillis, who cast the deciding vote to confirm him, now says he has “a profound case of buyer’s remorse.”
Hegseth says he’s staying for all four years. Congress may have something to say about that. And with Democrats about to control both chambers, he may discover that running the Pentagon requires more than putting on a warrior costume and picking fights.
