So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.

NAZA. The most important movie of our age. Netanyahu just demanded it be banned. And that’s the loudest endorsement it could ever have wished for. They’re so scared of you seeing it they even put out a counterfeit film on YouTube with the same name to try and bury it. So what are they so terrified of? The film shows uses testimonies of actual IDF soldiers that were sickened by what they were involved in. It shows you exactly what they don’t want you to see in Gaza. Watch it before it’s gone. Follow if you’re done with their version.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Shut up Joe
Joe Rogan: “One of the things that really terrifies me is Nazi Germany was not that long ago and there was a time in my life where I think most people generally agreed that could never happen again. That type of scenario where a group of people are completely othered to the point where they’re not human anymore, that a nation goes along with it. We thought we were done with that forever. I don’t believe that anymore. I realize how fragile civilization really is and there’s always these battles of good and evil. Good leaders who generally want something good for their people and want to leave a mark and be remembered as someone who made a difference and then leaders who just want to take over all the systems and make sure they can’t be contested and want to dominate the country and change it”

Joe Rogan decrying the environment that Joe Rogan helped create. Self awareness: zero.
Joe Rogan: “That’s one of the weirdest things about some of these tech companies like Palantir was talking about reinstating the draft. I’m like hey, who the fuck are you? What is this? You want to draft people? You’re a fucking tech company. Why don’t you go fight? Why don’t you fucking take your glasses off and go over there?”

My son works full time here in Florida. Let me run his numbers. State minimum wage is $14/hour. He's at $15. 40 hours a week = $600/week That's about $2,600/month before taxes. Florida has no state income tax the thing they sell you on. So after federal and FICA he takes home roughly $2,200. Average one-bedroom in our area runs about $1,600. That's 73% of his entire paycheck gone to rent before he eats a single meal. Leaves him around $600 a month for: - groceries - gas - car insurance - health insurance - phone - emergencies - savings Car insurance alone eats a third of that in this state. He works 40 hours a week and cannot save a dollar. Not because he's careless because there's nothing left to be careless with. I spent thirty years paying off a house here. He's doing the same job I did at his age and he can't afford a one-bedroom. That's not a discipline problem. That's not avocado toast. The floor moved and nobody lowered the ceiling. Working full time should cover a roof. In Florida it barely covers the rent on one.

What a nightmare. By implementing the tariffs illegally, and now having to unwind them, the Trump administration created over $100 billion of profit for corporations selling foreign products, at the expense of American consumers. Your refund: $0.00 Apple’s profit: $2.2 billion

.@JamesTalarico on Texas officially banning THC: “This bill is insane. Texans aren’t going to stop smoking weed and eating edibles because politicians in Austin say so. Texans will still use THC — but instead of getting it safely from a local small business, they’ll go back to getting it from the black market. From the drug cartels. This ban is a gift to the cartels. We are now telling full-grown adults how to live their lives. This is the nanny state at its worst; this is big government at its worst.  Instead of fully funding our schools, guaranteeing healthcare, or making childcare more affordable — this Legislature is focused on banning a product that gives people a little peace. We’re making people’s lives harder, not easier. I want to leave you with a quote: ‘It is time to end needless arrests and incarcerations of adults for small amounts of marijuana for personal use.’ That wasn’t a Democrat. That was President Donald Trump. To my Republican colleagues, I’m asking you to oppose the cartels, stand with President Trump, and vote no on this insane bill.”

In what alternate reality does Trump's Minister of Propaganda Karoline Leavitt live in? Trump giving Saudi bone saw assassin Mohammed bin Salman a nuclear weapon is America first? Holy fuck! Is there any treasonous act Trump will not carry out for money?

When I heard about Senator Graham’s death last night, the first thing I thought about was not all the things he said and did in service of Donald Trump. I thought of the time before Donald Trump when he was a brother to Senator John McCain. A time when senators from different parties could fight about politics and still be friends. A time when a conservative Republican from South Carolina could say of my father: “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, you’ve got a problem. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in politics. As good a man as God ever created.” That is the Senator Graham I will remember today. Not because I have forgotten what came after. Because in that memory there is hope. Hope for a country where brothers can fight like hell over policy and still share a meal, and a laugh, and the loss of the people they love. I will choose to remember the time before Trump. Because I believe in an America after Trump.

The difference between Belgium and the US is that in Belgium, we don’t have a president with a FIFA Peace Prize, a direct line to Infantino, and a complete absence of moral fiber.

I am a J6er. I protested a stolen election. Walked right past the police through an open door, and the police let me in. My father's step son turned me into the FBI. My house was raided. They branded me a traitor, and insurrectionist, slapped me on a terrorist watchlist. I plead guilty to illegal picketing, a Class B petty offense misdemeanor with the same sentencing guidelines as walking your dog off leash on a National Park . They swore no prison time. They lied. Judge Hogan sentenced me to 30 days for “not being remorseful enough” and three years’ probation to tie me up through elections. An unconstitutional "split" sentence. My Judge, Judge Hogan called J6 worse than the war of 1812. All I did was chant "Stop the Steal!" inside the Capitol and wear the wrong Tshirt. God Bless the J6ers!

So Joe Rogan had on another Epstein Class AI billionaire criminal to lecture his audience about how mass surveillance is actually good for them and they should support it. This is the same guy who lied to millions of people and Joe's face about the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Rogan's brain is barbecue chicken.
