#comm_colleges are the economic heartbeat of our country! Low-cost tuition/fees, campuses close to home, small class size, and a great emphasis on jobs, apprenticeships, and the #skilledtrades
Got the word today that our institution will be closed between Christmas/New Years. I am beyond grateful for my team that they have this true break to look forward to. It’s really #alliwantforchristmas – at Traverse City, MI
Spent the weekend with amazing teenagers who are eager to learn, grow, and give to this world. My heart is full and I am so so tired. Thankful for my co-advisor, educator extraordinaire, and great friend Kristen who said ‘yes’ to doing this with me! #rotaryyouthexchange – at Petoskey, MI
Yes! Time to change up our culture of “no” to one of “yes, and!”
Dear education leaders. Instead of asking “Why?” make it a priority to ask “Why Not?” #iamptk

Keep colleges like @nmc_tc in mind for the incredible college start and career-prep programs available across the state. I'm grateful for my community college experience and the 50+ transfer credits I earned before transferring. #EndCCStigma #TransferNation #SpringIntoCollege
Do you know any students still exploring their college options? Share our survey with them so colleges and universities across the state can reach out to them! #SpringIntoCollege

From their commitment to accessibility to their unwavering support of building student achievement, community colleges are the backbone of higher education. To all our community college administrators, professors, and students across the country, keep up the great work. #CCMonth
She graduated early from high school, graduated with highest honors @nmc_tc, transferred to @UMich, accepted as a Fulbright Scholar, med school @MayoMedEd, and matched back in MI @UMichMedPeds. Last week she called to share her joy and made my day. #lovemyjob #endccstigma
These Fast Facts from @Comm_College should be required reading for elected officials! Community colleges like @nmc_tc enroll nearly half of all US undergrads! #endccstigma aacc.nche.edu/research-trend…
Meeting today with our campus OER (open educational resources) Squad - my colleagues are awesome! We're working on a way to offer an associate degree with ZERO textbook costs! #ChallengeAccepted
Wishing we were in session with our students to provide a space for discussion and reflection about this week’s events, but also know their hard work and that of our faculty is preparing them to do this on their own. Education and informed dialogue has never been more critical.
Good riddance indeed. EFC assumes so many things — like that all students have family financially supporting them in college. We know what happens when we assume... Let’s hope new nomenclature goes beyond just words. nytimes.com/2020/12/30/your-…
Thanks to @onomatopriya for facilitating our panel today about how we're living the intersection of Guided Pathways + MI-BEST with our students. Wise words about meeting students where they ACTUALLY are from Jeremy @BayCollege + Ashley @JacksonCollege #MIstudentsuccess
I’ve started my New Year culling early — hitting that unsubscribe button and simplifying my email inbox. It feels amazing!
Missing travel in a big way right now (#FirstWorldProblems) but loving window-swap.com Just visited Catalonia — listened to the birds chirp and the trees sway in the breeze, while sipping my coffee on the balcony. Thanks for sharing @DianaFairbanks4
Heck yes it is. Not only is it the smart choice, and saves big $$, our students are rock stars when they transfer or enter the workforce. #EndCCStigma
