Twice a year—at the beginning of a semester or of a new school year—I always like to share the “the six ‘Fs’ of a great classroom manager.” Whether you’re already back in class with your students or preparing for the new year, it’s the perfect time to remember the 6 “Fs”! #edchat

Patient (adj.): able to accept or tolerate delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.
Patience is easy to preach, but hard to implement. Remember to have patience with your students, w/ the process, and most of all, w/ yourself. #edchat

Be patient and show grace.
Everyone is going through something.
And depending on where someone is in that ‘something,’ your patience and grace could make all the difference.

Having low expectations for students is a disservice, not love.
High, consistent expectations with appropriate supports takes time, energy, and boundless love.
Don't confuse low expectations with supporting students. Set the bar high, but help them learn to carry the load.

We loved chatting with them! Lots of great questions that @akate_19 answered about working and being a student🥩
We had a great time hosting the @MizzouAdmission reps at @cafnr! They enjoyed lunch with items from @MizzouMeatLab & Buck’s ice cream. Professors showed them the CAFNR Experience with hands-on learning & undergrad research opportunities. Thanks to all the reps for visiting CAFNR!
