#News Somali migrants in Minnesota were warned they would be k*lled if they talked about or revealed Rep. Ilhan Omar's family history or any of her secrets. A campaign of threats and physical intimidation within the Somali community in Minneapolis was launched to keep people quiet about Omar, according to a new report. Very few members of the Somali migrant community in Minneapolis are willing to talk about Omar because of threats and fear of violence, according to the New York Post. Omar is backed by a fiercely protective and violent group that bombards anyone who speaks out with online threats of physical harm in the United States, Europe, and Africa. According to the report, one community member who broke ranks was assaulted on the streets of Minneapolis and again in Kenya after his name appeared in the press. Outside a Kenyan restaurant in 2022, he was jumped by 15 people, pepper-sprayed, thrown to the ground, and punched and kicked, leaving him with a concussion, cuts, and bruises. “After that I don’t really remember what happened. All I know is I was thrown to the ground and had so many punches and kicks thrown at me.” The person he thinks is linked to the attack previously said, “There are people in our community who have snitched on Ilhan Omar, as well as gone after her father. People have looked the other way for too long, you b*tches.” Journalists, whistleblowers and Republican officials have been accused of being racist if they questioned Omar's background, family history, policies or actions. The report also said one source received a threatening phone call demanding he recant prior statements and support Omar ahead of the midterms. “I feel very threatened for simply disagreeing with anything to do with Ilhan Omar.” “If you don’t support her, then these people online really want to make you pay. I am fearful of my life every single day. I wish I never said anything about her. I get de*th wishes every day, and I am afraid to leave my home." "On the rare occasions I do, I am verbally abused or, worse, actually physically assaulted.” The source was explicitly told to say “I lied about Omar because we were arguing” and published a message of support. He refused but felt pressured to avoid further villainization in the community. The Post also heard a seven-minute phone call from a “leading member” of the Somali community in the city making similar threats. A man in Somalia known as Aardile said he would put a hit on a Minnesota critic talking negatively about Omar: “We are sending people after you, they’re going to put you in the hospital and in a coma.” The critic said, “My heart sank when I heard that because these people are not a joke, they’re dangerous. I stayed in bed for the entire week and could not face going outside in fear of being shot dead at any moment.” Another message told him “You are going to be k*lled” and labeled him a “snake.” Critics say that these incidents reveal the problems of importing people from the Third World en masse. Third-world migrants from M*slim-majority countries filled with violence bring their way of life to the United States.
