October’s #FullMoon peaks in the early hours of 26 October. It is known as the Hunter’s Moon. “The moon stays longest for the Hunter now: The trees cast down their fruitage, and the blithe And busy squirrel hoards his winter store;” – John Gardiner Calkins Brainard (1796–1828).

The flu season is predicted to be a harsh one. Xofluza (baloxavir marboxil) is approved and marketed in Canada. Does your Dr know about it? Do you (or they) have flu rapid tests? Will they prescribe it? Does your pharmacy (or any) carry it? We need all the tools.

Today is Persons Day. This day honours The Persons Case, which ended in a victory for The Famous Five on Oct. 18, 1929. The ruling declared women to be persons under the law and qualified to sit in the Senate. Cairine Wilson became the first female Senator in 1930 📸 Wikicommons

On behalf of the NATO Military Committee, we extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the tragedy at CFB Wainwright, and our wishes for a full recovery to all the injured. Wainwright is where Canadian soldiers, and so many Allies with them, train for the hardest tasks of our profession. Those who fell there served our common security, and the Military Committee will honour their memory. We are grateful to the first responders, medical staff and the people of Wainwright for their courage and solidarity. @CDS_Canada_CEMD, Canada does not carry this grief alone. All 32 Allied Chiefs of Defence stand with you and the Canadian Armed Forces. 🇨🇦 @CanadaNATO @Canada @CanadaOTAN @CanadianPM @NATO @SHAPE_NATO @NATO_ACT #StrongerTogether #WeAreNATO

A perfect 7-habit morning done once loses to one boring habit you do every day. - That's how circadian timing, stress load, and hormone exposure actually change - through repetition, not intensity. A large analysis of over 11,000 adults found that consistent morning light exposure was more strongly linked to better sleep timing and lower depression risk than total daily light alone. The vicious cycle most of us run: Wake up → grab the phone → skip light → skip breath → drink from plastic → skip movement → feel “off” → promise a bigger reset tomorrow. Break it with one thing you won’t skip: • 10–20 min outdoor light before noon • 3 rounds of 4-7-8 before breakfast • Delay the scroll 30–60 min • Glass or stainless instead of plastic • 5 min of movement + pumpkin seeds on breakfast (~150 mg magnesium per ounce) Consistency beats the perfect plan. Which single habit are you locking in for the next 7 days—no exceptions? #MorningHabits

The Vikings loved giving cats as wedding gifts. Not only were they thought to be invaluable to brides setting up their new homes, but they were also sacred to Freya, the #Norse goddess of love, whose chariot was pulled by two giant cats. #FolkloreSunday #FairyTaleTuesday
