ALT History Lab is pleased to invite abstracts for consideration to present at our online conference in June. The theme of the conference, Material Culture as Methodology, is considered broadly, and we hope to foster conversations about using material culture, rituals and daily interactions as sources for various types of historical analysis. This conference seeks to re-evaluate the role of the material in the practice of history. We are interested not only in research that examines the impact of material culture at the quotidian level, but also that which seeks to uncover the broader significance of objects, rituals or daily practices to social, economic, political or cultural shifts and frameworks. Therefore, we hope to see abstracts of research situated in a wide range of periods and places. This conference follows a pre-circulated format. Selected panellists will submit their papers for pre-circulation ahead of time, and will be given 10-15 minutes on the day to contextualise content
