it is actually so crazy how like if someone makes a post about laws that expressly target trans women the two most common forms of comment are: 1) cis person: trans girls are rapists who shouldn't be allowed in society 2) trans person: why aren't we talking about trans men?

unfortunately, they aren't gullible, it's just the easiest way for them to say "trans women are men" without directly saying those words (although a good bit of them will do so when pressed enough on their position).

because there is a two-page list of acceptable forms of voter ID in Canada that includes everything from utility bills to the labels on prescription bottles, to having another registered voter take an oath swearing your identity. That's not what the US is proposing.

It's very odd to me that voter ID is controversial in the US. We have it here in Canada and it's very normal and accepted by everyone, no one is disenfranchised by it.

Cis women in this context always means a very specific archetype of a feminine woman you saw on television and not 50% of the human population. No, a considerable portion of us did not have friends or family helping us, we had adults calling us fast for wearing red nail polish.
