Hi! btw, that room notation is cool: It means the room is on the 12th floor, at 182 degrees to true north (so almost directly south) of the middle of the building. If you step out of the elevator there is a compass rose on the floor. Means you know exactly what direction to walk to to find your meeting. We came up with this when I was complaining that finding meeting rooms is always like a table scan and we need to figure out how to turn it into an primary key lookup. 😂

JFC. This city is so incompetent it hurts. Have the event adjacent to a transit station that can handle thousands…lol j/k, we're closing the station because fuck you. Enjoy the long walk from Lyon or Baysview.

It was such an honour and privilege to work and get to know Chris. He was so kind and I loved getting the opportunity to learn from him. Rest easy my friend 💔

I'm heartbroken to share this news about our dear friend and colleague, @ChrisGSeaton.
Screenshot of a message from Shopify's Ruby and Rails Infrastructure team that includes: Our dear friend and colleague Chris Seaton passed away last Saturday, December 3rd. Chris was an important part of our team at Shopify, and a notable figure in the Ruby community, and we are deeply saddened by our collective loss. Chris accomplished much in his life. He completed a Ph.D., rose to be Squadron Leader in the British Army Reserve, and started a young family. Chris began the TruffleRuby project in 2013 as an intern at Oracle Labs and stewarded it into a full-fledged Ruby implementation. Chris advanced the state of the art in dynamic language optimization, co-authoring 16 publications, contributing to countless others, and establishing both the Ruby Bibliography archive of Ruby research publications and the Ruby Compiler Survey. For his efforts, he was a Ruby Prize finalist in 2016. Chris’s papers, essays, and code contributions are currently archived at chrisseaton.com.

I’m so tired of this. An absolute implosion by the Blue Jays after a solid start from Gausman. Brutal. And ya. He should’ve finished the 6th. You pay him 20 million a year or whatever it is. Let him work his shit out WHEN ITS 8-1. #NextLevel
