On 22 October, as a build-up to the Stop the Far Right Demo, let’s flood social media and raise our voices against hate and say NO to Tommy Robinson.
Let’s make sure our voices are heard on X and beyond. #StandUpToRacism
With fewer than 2% of packed lunches meeting the same nutritional standards as school meals, it’s time for @WesStreeting to listen to health professionals and deliver #FreeSchoolMealsforAll for every primary school child in England. @NoChildBehindUK @NEUnion @Preston_NEU
Today, healthcare professionals are calling for hot, nutritious school dinners for every child in primary school. Medical experts say this will lead to improved health and well-being for children. @WesStreeting will you back #FreeSchoolMealsForAll? @NoChildBehindUK
📢Our education system is broken!
Buildings are crumbling, colleagues leave in their droves and our children suffer because of it.

Wow! Is it true @GillianKeegan, that the STRB has recommended more than inflation, but you intend not to honour it?
Is that what you are hiding?

I couldn’t turn down this opportunity today to speak about the vital role of children’s centres and the importance of early intervention

POLITICAL VANDALISM?
OFSTED MARKING OWN HOMEWORK
Days like today (elsewhere) I’m reminded Vic by how often this happens, little difference between poachers and gamekeepers in this establishment ruled and run country, regardless of who’s in government, tho the synergy has been particularly immense these last few years
Hearing these two chats by @mrjamesob, one with @SiobhanHead about SureStart would make the most hardened cynic wonder if there WAS sense in scrapping SureStart centres if:
1: you made money selling oven chips
2: you made money running a privatised health and intervention service
It’s as if it’s been a government that deliberately created problems that it can make money from by solving, regardless of the human cost
Let’s not forget that even the penal system is hugely profitable (for someone) and goes a long way to explaining an education system designed to fail a third of young people
Up and on

Excellent article from @guardian on an @NEUnion survey into the disgraceful state of SEND funding in our schools. This gov has failed our children for 14 years. I hope there is enough left in the system for the next gov to fix this crisis. @NEUNW_Region theguardian.com/education/20…

After just 5yrs, teachers in Scotland are paid a whopping 17% more than their colleagues in England.
The recruitment & retention crisis in our schools & colleges won't be solved without a fair, fully funded pay rise.
Use your vote in our preliminary ballot on 2 March. #PayUp24

This is no joke. We need a decent pay rise.

Last year, @GillianKeegan promised to speed up the STRB process, but she didn't send her remit until late December.
If the Govt backs a paltry 1-2% pay rise for teachers this year, this will be an outrage: the @NEUnion will launch a preliminary online ballot on 2 March. #PayUp24
