Michael Jackson performed for his mother, Katherine Jackson, on May 4, 1984, during a private celebration of her 54th birthday.
The event, titled "A Moment for Mother," was a surprise party organized by the Jackson family in Los Angeles.

Interesting how the world often treats the French Revolution as the only great symbol of freedom and rights, while the Haitian Revolution is treated like a footnote. Yet, Haiti did what many abolitionists elsewhere only preached, i.e., enslaved people rising up and defeating an empire, abolishing slavery, and claiming freedom by force. Haiti’s history deserves equal, and maybe greater, reverence.
Brilliant documentary by @AJEnglish 👌🏽

"It’s got to be tough, because I think they’re supporters of the President. So imagine your president on Easter is tweeting ‘Praise be to Allah,’ and now Elmo saying ‘habibi’ feels threatening," Youssef said trolling the outrage.
“There’s been a lot of languages on ‘Sesame Street’ and there’s been no backlash to those. So, it actually really did surprise me... I've talked about, you know, free Palestine. I've talked about things that are so important to me. And people have said certain things. Elmo saying Habibi has set them off in a way that has never happened to me before..."
