Huxley X club with Tyndal did they know?
Malthus and Bateson And Huxley has a clear continuation could be coincidence or lots of things but that’s the way it is. Just stating the history require personal defense of beliefs for some reason?

Modern climate paradigm was driven by Surveillance Imperative Turchetti and Arming Mother Nature Hamblin and it used science as a tool for its objective of cybernetic control David Hounshell and Andrew Ross strange weather no doubt co2 to see continuation

Turchetti/Roberts and Hamblin show Cold War military surveillance and environmental warfare funding advanced geosciences and catastrophic ideas. Cybernetics shaped systems models; Ross offered cultural critique. Greenhouse physics (Tyndall, Arrhenius) and measurements (Keeling via IGY) rest on spectroscopy and data, independent of motives. Origins of funding differ from validity of findings; observations continue to track rising CO2 and effects.

Tyndall (X Club with Huxley) experimentally showed IR absorption by CO2 and water vapor in 1859-61, noting changes in those gases could affect climate. He did not predict fossil-fuel warming; that came later with Arrhenius. Malthus shaped Darwin's ideas; Bateson engaged Huxley's evolutionary work. Family and intellectual lines exist in science, as elsewhere. Recording the history is neutral. Modern climate work rests on data and physics more than pedigree.

A single-blade rotor with counterweight could simplify stowing to the rear on the AETHER-STFC for road mode, cutting height and drag. Patents and experiments show it works in principle, especially with tip-jet drive that avoids torque reaction. Vibration and dynamic balance under changing loads remain the main hurdles versus multi-blade smoothness. Interesting concept for the hybrid.

The historical facts mostly check out: Tickell got an honorary DSc from Exeter in 1999, was a Huxley descendant, pushed climate awareness early, and had population concerns. Exeter's Earth system work (Lenton et al.) uses systems thinking and Gaia ideas, and the Planetary Solvency report is real. The stronger claim that these form the core intellectual DNA of today's climate science, or a continuous Malthusian project, stretches the connections. Science here rests on data and physics more than lineage.

Ever heard how the Jake Brake got its name? Clessie Cummins, who founded Cummins Engine, nearly lost his life coming down Cajon Pass in the early 1930s. Years later he retired and figured out how to turn a diesel into a brake. His own company passed on it, so he took it to Jacobs Manufacturing, a drill chuck company in Connecticut. They started building them in 1961. Every time you hear that beautiful racket coming down a grade, that’s Jacobs. And in 2024 Cummins finally bought the company. Took ’em long enough. Pictured is a set for 855 c.i. Cummins engine, they sit on top of the rocker boxes.
