Halloween is coming, and this time of year can be dangerous for black cats.
Keep them safe, and don’t forget: they don’t bring bad luck, they’re living beings who deserve to be loved. 🐈⬛
Protect them. Don’t let superstition turn into cruelty. 🙏🏼❤️

SHE WAS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD WHEN AUSCHWITZ STOLE HER CHILDHOOD. FOR EIGHTEEN MONTHS, SHE ENDURED THE HORRORS OF JOSEF MENGELE’S EXPERIMENTS.
Her name was Lidia Maksymowicz.
At an age when a little girl should have been playing with dolls, holding her mother’s hand and discovering the wonders of childhood, Lidia was imprisoned behind the barbed wire of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Her family’s crime? Resisting the Nazis.
Her punishment? Eighteen months in a world where children were treated not as human beings, but as objects for medical experimentation.
Injections. Hunger. Disease. Terror.
And behind it all stood Josef Mengele, the Nazi doctor who turned innocent children into victims of unimaginable cruelty.
Imagine being three years old, surrounded by death, desperately searching for your mother’s face.
Her mother risked her life to visit her secretly, offering what little comfort and love she could in a place designed to destroy both.
When Auschwitz was liberated in January 1945, Lidia was alive. But her family was gone, and her mother was believed dead.
A Polish woman took the frightened little girl into her home.
The Nazis had stolen her childhood, but they had failed to steal her life.
Lidia survived to tell the world what happened behind those gates.
Six million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust, including approximately 1.5 million children.
NEVER FORGET. NEVER AGAIN

Today, the NHL Alumni family mourns the loss of Ron Duguay, a cherished member of our hockey family whose legacy reaches far beyond the game he loved so dearly.
Ron lived life with an extraordinary passion, an infectious smile, and a heart that was truly larger than life.
Above all else, his deepest and most sincere love was for his family. They were his greatest pride, his greatest joy, and always closest to his heart.
His dedication and passion for the game of hockey were unwavering. Hockey was more than a sport to Ron; it was a part of who he was, a lifelong love that he carried with pride and shared so generously with others.
But perhaps what made Ron most special was his humanity. His genuine compassion, kindness, and willingness to help others always extended far beyond himself. He cared deeply, gave generously of his heart, and had a remarkable way of making everyone around him feel valued and appreciated.
Ron greeted each day with the biggest smile, an incredible zest for life, and a positive outlook that shone through everything he saw, everything he did, and every life he touched.
He will be remembered not only for the player he was, but for the extraordinary person he was.
His warmth, his laughter, his kindness, and his beautiful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, teammates, and the entire NHL Alumni community.
Our deepest love and heartfelt condolences go out to Ron’s family and all those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
Rest in peace, Ron. Your smile, your heart, and your love for life will never be forgotten. ❤️🏒
Forever a part of our NHL Alumni family.
