Before Tim Allen became the voice of Buzz Lightyear and the star of Home Improvement, he was involved in drug trafficking. In 1978, Allen was arrested at a Michigan airport after being caught with more than 1.4 pounds of cocaine.
Under Michigan’s strict drug laws at the time, he faced the possibility of life in prison without parole. Allen reached a plea agreement with authorities, providing information that helped lead to the indictment of 20 people and the convictions of four major drug dealers. His cooperation significantly reduced his potential sentence.
He was ultimately sentenced to three to seven years in prison and served two years and four months before returning to comedy. Years later, he became one of television’s biggest stars and the voice behind one of Pixar’s most recognizable characters.

The Act: A young man was recorded on a leaked Snapchat video laughing, harassing, and repeatedly kicking a protected California Sea Lion resting on a low concrete seawall while another person laughed and filmed the attack.
