Are we investing in solutions, or have we created an economy around the problems? In "reform", we spend millions addressing the consequences of incarceration, but how much of that investment is actually reducing the need for those services in the first place?

For the first time in 9 years, I convened a group of formerly incarcerated leaders. No non-profit. No grants. No reports. No surveys. My own money.  We gathered in Savannah to invest in something we don’t talk about enough: wealth generation, community, entrepreneurship, trust, loyalty, and the freedom to be ourselves.
