We’re pleased to announce that LoWisa has been approved to participate in the Meta Global AI Developer Hackathon 2026 by @MetaforDevs
From October 26 to November 5, we’ll take our mission into a global building challenge: exploring how AI can help bridge the gap between learning concepts and applying them in practice.
Education needs more than access to information. Learners need ways to develop understanding, practise their skills, and build the confidence to use what they know.
This is the challenge we’re committed to addressing with LoWisa, and we look forward to sharing our progress, lessons, and breakthroughs throughout the journey.
Our focus is simple: build technology that makes learning more meaningful and practical.
The journey begins October 26. 💜
STATUS: APPROVED!
@LoWisadev is officially approved to participate in the Meta Global AI Developer Hackathon 2026!
What if AI could solve an education problem we have learned to live with for years?
Not by generating more answers, Not by replacing teachers.
But by addressing a challenge that continues to affect how people learn and develop practical skills.
That is what we are taking on with LoWisa.dev
From October 26 to November 5, we will be building to demonstrate how AI can solve real problems in education and positively impact society.
This mission is personal to me.
As a student who has balanced education with work, I have experienced the gap between what we are taught and what we are expected to do in the real world.
It is one of the reasons I started building LoWisa.dev
And this hackathon gives us an opportunity to take that mission further.
Here is what we are setting out to achieve:
→ Tackle a genuine challenge in education.
→ Explore how AI can make a meaningful difference.
→ Build a solution with real-world applications.
→ Demonstrate how technology can create opportunities for learners.
We will be sharing our entire journey with you.
From our first day of building to the final submission.
The decisions we make.
The challenges we encounter.
The things that fail.
And the breakthroughs that move us forward.
AI's greatest contribution to education should not be be how much information it can generate, but how many lives it can help change.
I am excited to build alongside developers from around the world who believe technology can do more for society.
Follow our journey. The building starts October 26!

The focus on transforming failures into learning opportunities is crucial for building confidence in learners. How do you envision this approach impacting educational outcomes?

AI should build critical thinking, not replace the ability to think independently.

that sounds like a powerful shift toward mastering concepts not shortcuts

Sounds like a game changer – turning a single “no” into a roadmap for real learning. Great to see AI helping kids actually grasp concepts.

turning wrong answers into real-world practice feels way more useful than another score

Turning exam mistakes into practical learning is a better use of AI than simply handing students the correct answers. The goal should be helping them understand, not making them dependent.

AI has so much potential in education when it's used to support human thinking.

A wrong answer says more than a right one, if someone looks at why. Does it start from what the student actually wrote, or only from the question they missed? The "why did you think that" step is the one teachers never have time for.

Showing kids how to fix their mistakes, not just what they got wrong, is what AI should help with.
Real learning requires more than speed. It requires reflection, understanding, and the willingness to work through mistakes.
At LoWisa, we believe AI should make that process more effective, helping learners identify gaps in their reasoning and develop the confidence to solve problems independently.
The goal isn't simply to get students to the right answer, but to help them understand how to get there.
That's the future of learning we're working towards.
AI is getting smarter every day. But are we becoming better thinkers?
And what about our children?
For generations, a failed exam has told students what they got wrong, but rarely shown them how to truly master it.
A single failed question can become years of lost confidence.
We built From Exam to Mastery at @LoWisadev to change that.
Using Meta AI, we turn failed answers into understanding, independent thinking, and real-world practice.
Not AI thinking for us. AI making us better thinkers.

Most AI tools are built to make students faster.
Faster at finding the answer. Faster at finishing the homework. Faster at moving on.
@LoWisadev does the opposite.
It deliberately slows students down. It makes them sit with the mistake instead of skipping past it. It turns a failed exam question into a clear map of where the thinking went wrong and then builds the understanding that was missing.
That quiet, uncomfortable work of sitting with error is something schools almost never have time for. Yet it’s the exact place where real learning happens.
This is what “AI for education” should look like. not a shortcut to the right answer, but a tool that strengthens the ability to think.

Learning Happens When You Take Part.
One thing we've been intentional about while building LoWisa is that learning should never be a passive experience.
It's not enough for someone to read an explanation or watch a demonstration. They need the opportunity to try, make decisions, encounter challenges, and understand what happens along the way.
That's the thinking behind experiences like our From Repo to Workflows GitHub course.
Lo explains, demonstrates, gives the learner a turn, and checks their work. The goal is not simply to complete a task, but to help the learner understand the process and build the confidence to do it independently.
This connects closely with what we're exploring at the Meta Global AI Developer Hackathon 2026: using AI to turn mistakes into opportunities for deeper understanding and mastery.
Different learning experiences, one underlying belief:
AI should not do all the thinking for us. It should help us become better thinkers.
That's the kind of future we're building towards at LoWisa. 💜
