#Europe must be at the table when peace in #Ukraine is negotiated - but not as a collection of fragmented voices. Any contact with Russia must be backed by a united position, real leverage and a list of European demands. Engaging with Putin one by one and without clear agenda has never worked for Europe. Not once.
🇱🇹 #Lithuania’s laser industry keeps growing!

Health care in Ukraine remains under strain as attacks damage hospitals, ambulances and warehouses storing life-saving medicines.
Over the last months, an increased impact on medical infrastructure, including in Kyiv, has severely disrupted access to vital care.

At #UNGA81 Third Committee, Lithuania, on behalf of the #NB8 🇩🇰🇪🇪🇫🇮🇮🇸🇱🇻🇱🇹🇳🇴🇸🇪, highlighted Belarus’s growing disregard for human rights, at home and beyond its borders.
Belarus actively supports Russia’s war of aggression, increasingly generates hybrid threats against its neighbours, including the instrumentalisation of migrants, and is complicit in the unlawful deportation of Ukrainian children. It must stop.
belarus keeps tightening its grip on human rights:
▪️Dismantles civil society and independent media
▪️Jails opponents on political charges and uses torture, including sexual & gender-based violence
▪️Targets Belarusians abroad through transnational repression
▪️Specifically targets women activists, journalists and human rights defenders
▪️ Treats political prisoners as bargaining chips
Releases must be unconditional, with no coercion, forced exile or further punishment.

I met with the Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Juozas Olekas. I thanked the Lithuanian people for their unwavering, strong, and consistent support for Ukraine.
We discussed in detail our European integration and the priorities of Lithuania’s presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2027. It is very important that the remaining two negotiating clusters for Ukraine be opened by the end of this year, so that during Lithuania’s presidency we can already begin closing negotiating chapters.
I briefed the Speaker on the meetings in Oslo and the overall situation in the negotiation process. We expect the trilateral meeting of the American, Ukrainian, and Russian teams to take place as early as the beginning of November.
I am grateful to Lithuania for supporting Ukraine.

Today Sweden spoke on behalf of the Nordic-Baltic countries in the UN dialogue on the Human Rights situation in the Russian Federation. The most recent report is harrowing reading, showing that “torture and ill-treatment remained widespread, systematic and part of a government strategy of repression”.

➡️ Committed crimes against humanity through attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure

A Russian drone struck civilian infrastructure yesterday in Synelnykove, Dnipropetrovsk region.
The strike occurred less than one kilometre from a hospital supported by MSF where staff responded to the mass casualty incident. Four people were killed and more than 13 injured.
We condemn this senseless attack on civilian infrastructure.

Attacks directed against civilians are prohibited under international law.
Yet, from the Middle East to Ukraine to Sudan, we are seeing civilians & civilian infrastructure deliberately thrust into the line of fire.
These attacks must stop.
