I truly believe Emerge is going to be helpful for us as comic creators, but I have to admit, there are days when failures are bigger than this and I have to take a deep breath… #saasstartup #indiecomics
Nothing says "I'm testing the new email notification system" quite like opening your inbox to find 17 unread messages instead of one 😅
Tiny bug to squash, but the backend routing is officially alive and working. Progress!

Testing Emerge’s new Caption/Balloon tool in the Review feature - the biggest win being that I sometimes forget to include captions when I write, so now I can easily let the letterer know to add something in!
Indie creators: Would you find this helpful?

So my friend Josh started his own YouTube channel, showcasing his incredible art! To kick off Halloween, he’s doing a speed-drawing series featuring iconic horror slashers. Check out his Ghostface from Scream.

Anyone have a Time Machine so I can follow @GenuineComics example? 😂😭
I am glad I started creating comics when I did, learning the craft, building a catalog and an audience. The world changed so much in the meantime. If I had to start now, I don't think I would. The rise of AI-generated content and the tribalism within the indie scene would probably discourage me from even trying.
But now I have momentum, a network of talented people that I trust, a good crowdfunding reputation, and I no longer have my own insecurities to fight and overcome. Whatever the future brings, I pursued my dreams and I know I won't have to look back in regret.
Right now, Genuine Comics has some cool things in the works, and I'm really excited about it. The best is yet to come!
15 years ago, Josh and I submitted our prelude for Fortune to a small anthology magazine. These were the pages - the story has changed a bit since then!

I originally wanted to be a comic artist, and ended up studying 2D animation for a couple of years in the desire to better myself. Anyway, I thought I'd share an old piece of artwork I found recently... #comicart #makingcomics
Early Fortune history! Before Josh and I came together to build the series, an artist called Chava Gonzalez did some character designs. So different to now, but still awesome!
Love Chava's style? Check out his work here: facebook.com/salvadorgoa

Fortune is something that we've been wanting to do for 15 years - a few things have changed over that time, including our skill level. Check out this page we did back then vs what it looks like today!

Are there any #comicreview accounts out there that focus on #indiecomics? I enjoy Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, etc, but I’d love to discover more reviews covering self-published and lesser-known creators! #ComicTwitter #IndieCreators
Throwback to an original design for Bayl - originally called Lucan because I suck at coming up with names. Obviously very different from where we landed.
Support our Kickstarter and get even more BTS content! bit.ly/fortune-3

Excited to have been on @MovementRadio3 to talk about all things Fortune! Chip Hazard called Fortune "one of the most exciting indie fantasy comics out there", and who am I to argue?

Got introduced to a new comic writing tool recently: flexdocs.com
I’ve been looking for something that makes formatting comic scripts easy, and this is looking super promising.
Fellow comic writers: what are you currently using?

Question for #comicwriters & #indiecomic creators:
I see a lot of talk lately about underlying themes authors put in their stories. Personally, I personally just want to write fun, captivating stories - maybe with a few twists.
Do you feel a story is better with a moral?
Josh and I work well together on our comic, Fortune, but we aren't always in sync - sometimes I need to write panels better 🤣#indiecomics #makingcomics #behindthescenes #fantasycomics
