Hey, goo-ners 💚 As most of you know, I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer a while ago and finally received surgery for it in September. I then had a heart attack on NYE which put me in the hospital for 4 days. I can't say I'm doing much better. Since my surgery, I'd been begging my PCP to follow up with my thyroid lab work as my surgeon suggested, but she refused to do so and also neglected to refer me to an endocrinologist who could do it instead. I've been in the ER with rising TSH and lower calcium levels since my surgery, which indicates that the leftover half of my thyroid isn't functioning properly. She still refused. I then lost marketplace insurance because medicaid declared myself and my son to be medically needy. I proceeded to solve that, however now I'm being told they have backdated my insurance and I now have to pay $1.3k to start coverage. Which I do not have. For the last two days, I've been in and out of the ER because my body was telling me something was wrong. yesterday, they failed me, but today I stood up for myself and lo and behold- hashimoto's diagnosis and then hypokalemia, which is what I suffered from prior to my heart attack. They prescribed me meds I had to pay out of pocket for and told me to follow up with someone. I can't do that until I can afford my insurance. I hate to be doing this, but if ANYONE can help, I'd be so incredibly grateful. Normally I wouldn't have to ask, but witb back to back surgery, hospitalizations, and medical care, I'm drained of emergency funds. Thank you in advance to any who read this and those who may help 🥹
