NEW: Minnesota Senate Republicans have elected Sen. Jordan Rasmusson as their new caucus leader
“Senate Republicans are committed to holding government accountable, addressing the high costs that are squeezing family budgets, and supporting real economic growth to get our state working again. Our team is united and ready to speak for those who have been left behind by Democrat priorities.”
On a new website for the incoming Klobuchar-Schierer administration, Gov.-elect Amy Klobuchar says "I'm not interested in moving our state to the left or the right. I want to move us forward."
During the gubernatorial election, Klobuchar portrayed herself as a moderate, but as governor she will be under immense pressure to appease her party's far-left flank.
The DFL just won big majorities in the Minnesota House and Senate and they have pushed a lot of far-left policies in recent legislative sessions.
We'll see if Klobuchar stands her ground or moves Minnesota to the left.
The DFL's legislative majorities elected for this trifecta are far bigger than the ones elected in 2022.
Prepare for Democrats to push the deceptively-named Equal Rights Amendment and other far-left policies like sanctuary state legislation and more gun control.
Former DFL state Sen. Nicole Mitchell, who resigned from the Minnesota Senate last year after she was convicted of burglarizing her stepmother's home, has been elected to the Woodbury City Council.

More GOP losses are expected in the House and Senate. In short, Republicans are losing a ton of seats up and down the board in the Minnesota Legislature.
Democrats have flipped multiple seats in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Going into tonight, the state House was split with 67 Republicans and 67 DFLers.
Tonight so far:
House District 18A: 🔴➡️🔵
House District 34A: 🔴➡️🔵
House District 57B: 🔴➡️🔵
Results show the GOP is on pace to lose more House seats as well.
Additionally, Republicans have failed to flip multiple toss-up seats that they targeted. Looks like Democrats will control the House, Senate, and governorship.
BREAKING: Republicans state Senate candidate Austin Peterson is leading DFL state Sen. Rob Kupec by just 4 votes with 100% of the vote in.
This would be a significant pickup for the GOP in the Minnesota state Senate. It appears to be the first pickup for the GOP Senate Caucus of the night.
However, this race will likely be heading to a recount.

Republican state Rep. Danny Nadeau has also lost his seat according to results from the Secretary of State.
Republican state Rep. Nolan west has won his bid for reelection to the Minnesota House by just 22 votes (0.09%).
In 2024, he won his race by more than 16 points. The GOP is barely holding state House seats it previously won comfortably.
Another DFL Trifecta is shaping up as we speak.
With Sen. Amy Klobuchar's victory in the governor's race, either DFL Gov. Tim Walz or Klobuchar herself will appoint a successor to fill her U.S. Senate seat.
Possible choices include Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon and DFL Congresswoman Angie Craig, who lost her primary for U.S. Senate earlier this year.
BREAKING: Democrats have flipped two Minnesota state Senate seats and are on track to flip another.

Senate District 37 🔴➡️🔵
Currently, Republican state Sen. Jim Abeler appears to be on pace to lose Senate District 35 as well.
At present, the DFL has a one-seat majority in the Senate. These losses by the Republicans mean the Senate DFL is in a strong position to hold their majority.
BREAKING: With 100% of precincts reporting according to the Minnesota Secretary of State, DFL candidate Chris Ford has beaten GOP state Sen. Michael Kreun by a little more than 6 points.
Ford's win is a major pickup for the DFL Senate Caucus, which already had a one-seat majority going into tonight.
BREAKING: Another Republican in the Minnesota House has lost, according to the Minnesota Secretary of State.
With 100% reporting, DFL candidate Leah Hanson, pictured below, has beaten GOP state Rep. Erica Schwartz by roughly 5 points. Two years ago, Schwartz won her district by a little more than three points.
BREAKING: With 100% of the vote reporting according to the Minnesota Secretary of State, DFL state Rep. Lucy Rehm has won reelection in her seat in the Minnesota House by more than 9 points.
Rehm beat Republican Caleb Steffenhagen in the race for the southwest metro seat which was considered a toss-up seat. Her wide margin of victory is a very bad sign for Republicans.
BREAKING: DFL state Rep. Matt Norris has won his bid for reelection to the Minnesota House by roughly 15 points, according to the Minnesota Secretary of State.
Norris beat Republican Leslie Larson in his campaign. He won reelection in 2024 by less than 2 points. It's looking like a very bad night for Republicans in the state legislature.
BREAKING: With 100% of the vote reporting according to the Minnesota Secretary of State, DFL candidate Brian Cohn has beaten GOP state Rep. Jeff Witte by more than 7 points.
Cohn's victory is a major pickup for the DFL in the state House where control is split with 67 Republicans and 67 Democrats.
For context, Witte won by a little more than 3 points in 2022. Cohn's margin of victory is not a good sign for the GOP, but many House seats are still up for grabs.
DFL Sen. Amy Klobuchar has spent much of this year's gubernatorial election trying to convince Minnesotans she'll govern as a moderate if elected.
However, transgender State Rep. Leigh Finke believes Klobuchar will support efforts to enshrine abortion and "gender identity" in the Minnesota Constitution, one of the far-left's top goals at the Minnesota State Capitol.
"I believe that Amy Klobuchar is all in to help us achieve every one of those goals," Finke said, also referencing efforts to "protect our immigrant neighbors from ICE."
Republican Aaron Paul, a police officer with decades of law enforcement experience, is running to win a House seat that was decided by just 14 votes in 2024.
He told Alpha News: "I believe in taking a common-sense approach to solving problems. I’ll look at every issue with one question in mind: Is this what’s best for Shakopee? My focus will always be on putting people first, ahead of politics or party lines."
