If only Bartleby and his carriage/trap was still around. Would have been a perfect vehicle in which to shove non-ambulatory Vince. #TheArchers

The suggestion Eddie Howe hit some kind of personal management ceiling at Newcastle is absurd. He didn’t hit his ceiling, he hit Newcastle’s. If United & *some* of their supporters feel they are too good for one of our best coaches then they will get what they deserve - again

BREAK IN APPEAL! 🚨 Sadly two young kids thought they’d spend their Saturday evening (5pm) helping themselves to all sorts of stock & items from our marquee last night…..and enjoying a Smirnoff ice whilst doing so. 🤬 We’ve got crystal clear CCTV of the incident, so would kindly ask the parents or guardians of said children to get in touch with the club between 9am - 5pm tomorrow. ‼️ So frustrating & disappointing after a great week at the club that continues to do everything it can to improve the West End, and provide a club for all the community. 💙 Please email us at [email protected] or call on 0191 406 0034. 📱

Replying to @henrywinter
Talent is useless if your manager chickened out and subbed in defenders to defend a 1-0 lead against a wide open backline with 2 CBs on yellows.

Sometimes birding throws up the occasional bizarre encounter. Such as watching a Bittern in a wooded cemetery on the edge of Sheffield city centre! Clearly surviving in the area as it has been seen in local gardens and on rooftops @Sheffbirdstudy @BirdGuides

I really give up. Everything is a lost cause. Just no hope. The EU has sanctioned the killing quota of 132,000 EUROPEAN TURTLE DOVES - one of the most endangered bird species of our time. They won't stop until it is extinct. Disgraceful and unforgiveable

At 82, Peter Giles is still breaking British age-group records — he improved his M80 5km best to 22:28 at Battersea Park at the weekend. He also used to play bass for King Crimson 🎸🏃 Just one of the hidden gems in AW's results articles each week 👇 athleticsweekly.com/results/…

A look back as we end the season. What a year! 6 chicks from 3 nests, the most we've ever had. Thanks to all who've watched webcams, followed posts and come along. We've met such lovely people. It's been an honour and a privilege. See you next year. #FoulshawOspreys

Back from the brink of extinction: Critically endangered kākāpō numbers have surpassed 300 birds for the first time in 75 years. 90 chicks were officially added to their population on September 1, bringing the total to 325—a record high since recovery efforts began in 1995, with only 51 birds left. Breeding success was triggered by the mass fruiting of New Zealand's rimu trees.

Jarell Quansah has his red card ban extended to two matches. FIFA will consider an appeal, if the England defender can prove he’s either American or Argentinian or a brown envelope stuffed with cash

Terrible about that Ryanair flight. A window blew out (£7 fresh air), a man’s head was sucked outside the plane (£19 scenic view), oxygen masks deployed (£15) and they landed back in Greece (£450 holiday extension). Everyone’s safe though (£70 wellness fee) so that’s good.
