I am incredibly excited to join an outstanding group of international colleagues and experts at Karl Landsteiner University for this vital interdisciplinary meeting.
During the conference, I will be delighted to present:
“Artificial Intelligence in Kidney Transplantation: Clinical Applications and Future Directions”
Our discussion will focus on how AI is actively transforming the transplant journey, including:
🔹 Comprehensive Evaluation: Enhancing donor and recipient risk assessment and matching
🔹 Post-Transplant Monitoring: Utilizing predictive analytics and continuous monitoring for early detection of complications
🔹 Agentic AI Integration: The emerging role of clinical AI agents and decision support tools in streamlining complex transplant care workflows
I look forward to exchanging ideas, learning from colleagues at the intersection of hematology, oncology, and nephrology, and exploring new opportunities to advance patient care through innovation and global collaboration! 🤝🌍
Event Details:
📍 Location: Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences | Krems, Austria
📅 Conference Dates: November 12–13, 2026

Over the last decade, immune #CheckpointInhibitors have revolutionized cancer therapy. However, they can cause immune-related adverse events, including acute kidney injury.

Using a humanized mouse model, Victor D. Cuenca Narvaez @VictorCuenca3, Michele Barbarini @MBarbarini, and Sandra M. Herrmann @HerrmannMd & team @MayoClinic now show that TNF‑α blockade reduces kidney inflammation caused by immune checkpoint inhibitors, suggesting a potential strategy to prevent immune‑related kidney injury.
The image represents reduced TNF-α expression in the kidney tissue in the ICI-TNF-α-Blockade group (compared to ICI-Only and ICI-Cytokines).
