From orbit, the Grand Canyon still looks immense—a vast, winding scar sliced into the Colorado Plateau by the Colorado River over roughly 5–6 million years. Stretching 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and more than a mile deep, its layered walls and dramatic depth remain unmistakable even from hundreds of miles above Earth.
Yet the view is also a quiet reminder of scale: what feels monumental to us on the ground shrinks into a single, striking detail when seen against the full curve of the planet.

Key Government Buildings to Be Illuminated Pink on 19 and 20 October for Pinktober
On the directions of First Lady Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari, key government buildings, including the President’s Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Parliament House and Cabinet Secretariat, will be illuminated in pink on the evenings of 19 and 20 October to mark Pinktober, the annual breast cancer awareness campaign.
The initiative is aimed at raising public awareness about breast cancer, highlighting the importance of early detection and encouraging timely medical consultation.
The buildings will remain illuminated in pink from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm on both nights, reinforcing the message that awareness and early diagnosis can save lives.
