#FLYERS are the new RECEIPTS! #hiphop #hiphoparchives #hiphophistory #hiphopnews #hiphopheads #oldschool #Bronx #HipHopHistorian #MCDebbieD
A few years ago, I met up with @chuckcreekmur of @allhiphopcom and dropped some knowledge on early hip hop straight from hip hop flyers. Whenever the Flyerologist is in the room, don’t be late when I educate. #ImAPioneer
Nas pens riveting letter to Hip Hop Culture. Among many things, he addresses how PIONEERS are forgotten and not compensated. “Stolen from and ripped off of.” Truth is, we never got the money nor fame and some won’t even put respect on our names. #ImAPioneer
With the rise of social media, came the rise of a revisionist history of hip hop. As a pioneer and Flyerologist, when it comes to hip hop history, I stick to the facts. The ones you find in black and white. Flyers don’t lie, people do! #MCDebbieD #Flyerologist #ImAPioneer
HIP HOP TRIVIA: A mashup of several generations of hip hop artists starting with pioneers. How many crews do you recognize? #ImAPioneer
Mean Machine. Hip Hop crews were 99% Black, a few w 1 Puerto Rican. Mean Machine was a predominantly Puerto Rican crew w 1 Black! Rhyming in English & SPANISH signed to Sugar Hill Records & 1981 recorded Disco Dream! 🔥 #ImAPioneer #HispanicHeritageMonth
Oct. 9, 1981 … 45 years ago! Before becoming the first female solo Emcee, I was w DJ Patty Duke & Jazzy 5. OTD a Queens crew performed w us at the iconic Bronx club, T Connection. This is hip hop history! #ImAPioneer
DJ EDDIE CHEEBA. A Harlem Legend. How do you move the crowd? As young teens, that’s what pioneer Emcees 🙋🏽♀️ needed to know. Once popular ‘70s Disco DJs Hollywood, Cheeba and Lovebug Starski gave us the blueprint; we took off 🗣️🗣️🗣️! #ImAPioneer
My Harlem brothers, The Fearless Four. We did lots of shows together! This crew is one of the few in #hiphop with a mix of Black & Puerto Ricans. In the early 80s, the F4 records had the parties jumping!!! #ImAPioneer
Grandmaster Flash and I both started our hip hop career in the South Bronx. Recently Flash dropped his new book, Birth of a Culture. He’s dropping some great gems about the origin of hip hop! Have you gotten your copy yet? #ImAPioneer
99% of the people in this photo are DJ and Emcees who were there during the origin of Hip Hop. At 14 yrs old, we are names on flyers and voices on cassette tapes building Hip Hop Culture! Do you recognize anyone? #ImAPioneer
#TreacherousThree. Harlem Hip Hop Pioneers. Spoonie G was an original member but after recording Spoonin Rap, he went solo & was replaced by Special K. Special K, Moe Dee & their DJ Easy Lee, all attended Norman Thomas HS - with ME! 🤣 #ImAPioneer
MC Spoonie Gee aka the Cold Crushin’ Lover/The Godfather. We grew up as childhood friends. As solo Emcees, we were in battles together at Harlem World. Did you know Spoonie is an original member of The Treacherous Three? #ImAPioneer
#ZuluNation … it’s time! Plan now to be there! Maybe that week I’ll drop some flyers and history on the early Zulu Nation parties! 🔥🔥🔥 #ImAPioneer
Sending happy birthday love to my Juice Crew brother and producer, DJ Marly Marl. In the early 80s when we first met, he was only doing beats in his apartment in Queensbridge! Now he travels the world! #ColdChillin #ImAPioneer 🎂🥰👑 @marleyskills
A list of all the members of the Juice Crew (All Stars)! Here’s some hip hop history: I am the first female Emcee to join and the only member who is a hip hop pioneer. I rapped about Harriet Tubman on the single, Evolution! #ImAPioneer
Never Forget. My first professional job was in 2 WTC as a legal secretary. BTW the Tower 2 was completed in 1973; the same year that DJ Kool Herc rocked in the Rec Center, launching Hip Hop Culture. #ImAPioneer
Well, the Summer is over and it’s back to the classroom to meet my new little ones! Prayers up for a great day and exciting year! 🙌🏽

Today, I see girls abound in so many areas in Hip Hop. 🥰🙌🏽 In the beginning that wasn’t the case. So, whenever I say, “Hip Hop started with only a few girls”; believe it! After the Jazzy 5, I became the first female solo Emcee. #MCDebbieD #ImAPioneer
