Been watching the Nightmare on Elm Street movies in sequence - just got through the fifth - and while they barely function as stories and no one knows how to act, they still provide “we used to be a proper country” moments with the production design. The amount of real shit that was built for these stupid movies is kind of staggering. They force you to feel for what we’ve lost.

Patrick was one of those icons who we somehow all took for granted would always be with us.
I grew up as a fan, and was later gifted the privilege of becoming a colleague and friend, working with him for many years on “American Dad!”, “Family Guy”, and “Ted”. He was that rare actor who could take any bit of dialogue and elevate it, making a good writer sound great, and a great writer sound masterful. He was also as humble as they come. I remember exchanging emails with him a number of years ago when he was beginning day 1 of a new film. He commented to me that he always walked onto a new set feeling like the biggest novice there. My stunned reaction was the same as anyone’s would be. I said, “Patrick, if you feel that way, the rest of us are screwed.” We have lost a legendary actor today, and for many of us, a good friend. He will be deeply missed by the entire planet.
He could’ve lived to 110 and it would’ve felt too soon.
Rest in peace to this absolute fucking king.

The big reason we have to deal with endless “Actually, this piece of shit was brilliant” discourse is how far the standard has fallen. If your main movie diet is straight-to-streaming Netflix slop, then yeah, a swing-and-a-miss from a real director will seem like a masterpiece.

I've seen this going viral all day and remained silent, reflecting in sadness on the movie, much like I did that fateful night after my friends and I sat in stunned disbelief at what an utter pile of garbage the phantom menace was. Everyone except my 5 year old nephew loathed it.

Everytime I watch a classic horror film I think. Why isnt this 8 hours long with a cliffhanger every hour?
From the jump, it's been abundantly clear that the writers of Rings of Power fundamentally do not understand the appeal of the material they are adapting and/or do not possess the talent or humility to serve that material. This is beyond parody.
[NEWS] “Is he good, is he bad? Do we know? Is he smarter than he makes out? And what's his drive? He's coming out of Sauron's world … I don't want to say too much on that, but what's his purpose?,” says Young. “That's been a lot of fun to play around with. And for the audience, it’s working out whether they trust him. And they will see as the show goes on, he's a tough nut to crack.”

Congratulations to my great friends, O.A.R. (@ofarevolution) on the release of their fantastic new album, "Three Tinted Windows"!
For three decades, these men have bared their souls through beautiful, timeless music that has brought millions of fans together under a banner of love and fellowship. Much more than a celebration of those thirty years or a nostalgia trip, this album represents the work of masters still operating at the very top of their game.
Well done, lads.

When people say they hate corporations, this is the kind of thing they’re really talking about - the totally faceless nature that makes a scam like the @Brewers “Timeless Ticket” bullshit possible.
Zero accountability here. Just more vague promises. Hope they get swept. 🧹

It's funny that Democrats have a guy that can win by Assad margins in a must-win swing state but he's not even talked about for 2028 because he's Jewish.

Netflix wants to lead culture, but its obsession w/ data means waiting for audiences to validate show before committing to more. Then we get 18 months between seasons.
Sorry. Can't lead culture by waiting for it to tell you where to go.

There is this deranged "Anything young people are doing or saying leftishly must be wise and just" stance that absolutely melts my brain in its condescension. Basically the noble savage trope, but for The Youth.

Building the ideal NFL roster based entirely on their relationship situation:
QB: Married to an above-average looking woman he met before he was famous. Attractive, supportive, but not Madison Beer hot. QB1 cannot have distractions.
RB: Knocked up his college girlfriend sophomore year. Still with her. 3 kids. Rumored mistress that everyone in the organization knows about but nobody discusses. May have one domestic violence charge that got dropped.
WR1: Completely single. Zero responsibilities. Following 4,700 women on Instagram. Let him cook.
WR2: Dating an Instagram model with 800k followers. Relationship is extremely toxic. Somehow this makes him better.
Slot WR: White guy married to a beautiful mid blonde. Golden retriever. Two kids. Lives 12 minutes from the facility. Automatic on 3rd & 7.
TE: Dating a famous actress/singer who gets shown during every broadcast. Annoying but necessary for team morale.
LT/RT: Married to high school sweethearts. Southern women. Three kids minimum. Own homes on 5+ acres. Absolutely zero nightlife.
Guards: Also married. Wives are best friends. Joint family vacations every offseason.
Center: Has been with the same woman since 8th grade. She packs his lunch.
WR3: Single, but not famous enough to pull WR1 numbers. Gets the girls WR1 stopped responding to.
Kicker: Wife is inexplicably a 10. Nobody understands how he did it.
Punter: You have literally no idea if he has ever spoken to a woman.
This team goes 14-3.

Pirate fans would rather go get a PhD in economic theory and simp for Manfred's salary cap than see their front office staffed by men who know how to draft.
Buddy, the level playing field on money isn't gonna fix stupid. As a Mets fan, I speak with some real authority on this.

The “MLB has no parity” take is one of the laziest in sports.
Last 20 years of champions:
• MLB: 12 different World Series winners
• NFL: 13
• NBA: 12
• NHL: 13
And MLB went *24 straight years* without a repeat champion (until the Dodgers finally did it in 2025). No other major league has come close to that streak.
Cubs ended 108 years. White Sox 88. Rangers first title. Royals, Nationals, etc. all got theirs.
Salary caps in the other sports didn’t magically create more different champs. Baseball’s October chaos did. The “buy a title” narrative keeps dying in the playoffs.
Parity exists. You just have to look past the payroll spreadsheets.
