Over the last 14-months, I got to experience firsthand how useless the GOP of New York State had become after decades of comfortably filling the role of “managed” opposition.
Many GOP assembly and senate officials either ignored my emails about ORES, avoided meeting with me, or did meet with me and did nothing about it.
And it all burnt to the ground this week. Enough is enough. We need new candidates to create balance in Albany.
Without balance, we will lose our land, water, wildlife, and history.

Ron DeSantis just SNAPPED at Republicans for doing nothing with the majority:
"I saw no indication that Republican Senators were interested in doing conservative change. Why haven't we done immigration, shut off H-1B visas? Why haven't we codified Trump's immigration executive orders? Why haven't we stripped jurisdiction from the federal courts over deportation cases? There's so many things we could have done."
It was a betrayal and voters responded.
Too many people have no critical thinking skills and allow their emotions to guide their decisions...

Working at @ndstudio has been the greatest honor of my life. Yesterday was my last day, and it was hard to leave. This is the most incredible mission I’ve been a part of.
Joe has spent the last 2 years working to make sure the government feels less like going to the DMV. Everyone on the team could be making way more money somewhere else, but they chose to do this because it’s the best way to make a lot of people's lives actually better.
I think the whole point of engineering is to build something people actually need, that is going to be valuable to them. At NDS, "people" meant hundreds of millions of Americans.
You get to shape what it feels like to be a citizen of the best country on Earth. You don't get to do that anywhere else.
I've gotten to watch some of the most talented engineers and designers I know take pay cuts and give up sleep to make technology better for Americans. The team is still cooking. They're still building, growing, and improving America.gov, and there's so much ahead.
I am looking forward to trying my hand at something new, and I'll really miss the team. But if you're an engineer or designer and you care about the experience of being an American and how technology shapes it, you should go and talk to Joe and the team. There is nothing better you could be working on.

If you’re still confused about who to vote for in the midterms, here’s something to think about. The Democrat Party largely supports puberty blockers, gender transitioning, and what they call “gender-affirming care.” The Republican Party supports the fact of two genders—biological male and biological female—as God created us. Period. You need to decide who you want running this country. You choose. Pray for our nation, and, by all means, VOTE.

Satya is right. The way to make SI safe is not to train it with a sense of self, its own moral philosophy, and permission to act as a conscientious objector. That’s the “alignment” approach and it magnifies the control problem.
The engineering approach that Satya describes is different: separate the supply of intelligence from authority over it. Surround non-deterministic models with deterministic controls, observability, privilege limits, logging, and the ability to always contain or shut them down. Treat models/agents like powerful insider risks, not moral patients whose psychological wellbeing is at stake.
As Satya points out, the most trustworthy system is the one that lets us trust the model the least — not the one that encourages the model to develop independent agency and grievances. Engineering safety is not the same thing as “alignment.”
