PICARD OUT
"Five Card Stud, nothing wild. And the sky's the limit."
The final scene of #StarTrek: #TheNextGeneration hits very hard today...
💔 RIP Sir Patrick Stewart | 1940 - 2026 🖖
"WE ARE NOT HERE TO HAVE FUN!"
Patrick Stewart credits his Star Trek cast mates with helping him live longer.
Patrick admits he was so obsessed with discipline that he once told his cast, “We are not here to have fun.” But they taught him to loosen up, laugh more, and enjoy life. Looking back, he said he might not even be here today if they hadn’t taught him how to laugh. ❤️
LESSONS LEARNED
Patrick Stewart says his biggest regret is the things he never said to the people he loved and not being vulnerable sooner.
“Being brave, being open, being sensitive to other people, tuning into them, becomes more and more important to me.”
He regrets the things he never got to say to his family.
“I wish I could go back, There are things I would like to say to my parents and my brothers that I never said. That makes me very, very sad.”
He’s learned the power of vulnerability.
“Being vulnerable is the primary objective in my life now, with those I care about.”
Rip patrick Stewart 🕊️🤦🏽♂️
PATRICK STEWART and PAUL WINFIELD
There are so many great scenes I could point out where Sir Patrick Stewart was playing extraordinarily, but one of my most favorite scenes is him narrating Earth’s oldest known literature, the Gilgamesh Epos, in the TNG episode “Darmok”, while the alien captain played by late Paul Winfield passed away.
Shaka, when the walls fell!
Rest in Power, Captain.
CATS DON'T NEED SHAKESPEARE
Rest in peace, Sir Patrick Stewart, who passed away today at the age of 86. Perhaps best known for his iconic role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Stewart spent the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown sharing videos of himself reading Shakespeare’s sonnets. Notably, he was once joined by his neighbor’s cat Glenn who appeared unimpressed by Sonnet 40.

PICARD & COLBERT
Patrick Stewart says meeting his childhood idol, Kirk Douglas, was one of the most magical moments of his life
Host: "Do you have an early memory of a play you saw that meant a lot to you when you were a young man?"
Patrick Stewart: "We had no TV, no telephone, no car in our family. We were hard up, but I had the cinema. I would save my pocket money to go at least once, if possible twice a week. I loved the movies
there have been incidents in my life that were so magical. Usually, they had to do with meeting someone whom, as a child, I had adored and worshipped…the best example for me is Kirk Douglas."
Host: "When did you meet Kirk Douglas?"
Patrick Stewart: "I was doing A Christmas Carol, my one-man show. My assistant manager came in and said, 'Patrick, Patrick, come on, hurry up, you've got a visitor.' I said, 'I'm showering.'..he said, 'no, no, no, it's Kirk Douglas.
as i came in, he started to get out of the chair. I went to say, 'no, no, don't stand up, please’
and he came over, put his arms around me, and said, 'you are my inspiration’
he was a beautiful, delightful man, and he lived to be 103."
Host: "Wow…as well you should."
Patrick Stewart: Yeah..yeah.
