Today, on #InternationalOlderPersonsDay, we recognize this year’s theme, the importance of Ageing with Dignity by strengthening care and support systems for older persons worldwide. As the number of Canadians living with dementia is projected to rise from 700,000 to 1.7 million by 2050, now more than ever, we must take action. We are grateful to MP @anitavandenbeld and her colleagues for their support in Parliament last week, and for wearing the Forget-Me-Not pin to honour the more than 700,000 Canadians living with dementia. As MP Vandenbeld shared, the personal toll of dementia on individuals and families is immeasurable, but by working together, we can strive toward a future free of dementia. Join us in advocating for stronger care systems and research to find a cure. Let’s continue to support those impacted and prioritize care for older persons. #WorldAlzheimersMonth #CareandSupport #ForgetMeNot #AlzheimerSocietyCanada #AgeingWithDignity #OlderPersonsDay #DementiaAwareness
