After 71 years, Columbia House is shutting down for good. The mail-order music giant, which once had 16 million members, survived the transition from vinyl to tapes, CDs and even DVDs — but ultimately couldn’t survive the rise of streaming.

New York socialist says nobody should be jailed for stealing
xitter.gq/EmilyAssembly/status/2…
She goes off on people and "right wingers" who call for thieves to be jailed for stealing and vandalizing stores saying they are just fear-mongering
She argues that nobody should be in jail over 'stealing soap and toothpaste' because it's something they need, and we shouldn't stand by major stores because they are billion dollar companies
According to her the "true crime" that's happening is "the wealth disparity in the city"

“Its hard to find the words to say goodbye to a club that’s been my home for so long. From arriving from Lewes as a young lad with big dreams to walking out at the Amex in the Premier League and in Europe, it’s been everything I could have hoped for and more.
I grew up at this club and learned what it means to represent #BHAFC.
I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity. As the club grew, I was lucky enough to grow with it.
Leaving was never going to be easy. This is my club and always will be, but I’m ready for a new challenge and excited. I will keep proving people wrong and get back to my best. I’m fit and ready for what’s next.
Most of all, thank you to you, the fans. Your support has meant more than I can put into words and it’s something I’ll carry with me wherever I go.
It’s been an honour to wear this shirt and to be part of this club’s history. I’ll always be watching, always supporting and always grateful.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you”

You earned it.
I'm honored to be elected president of the @whca for 2028–2029.
I look forward to serving my colleagues across the White House press corps to ensure robust and independent coverage of the presidency.
I’m excited to build on the strengths of the association, including our shared commitment to a free and fair press.
