Honoured to take on the role of Global Ambassador for the Grand Bargain's Collective Action Platform at the @GrandBargain_ Annual Meeting in Geneva.
This role is distinct from my responsibilities as IFRC Secretary General. My ask will be to listen, amplify local voices, and help bring together governments, international organizations, NGOs, donors and communities to drive collective action. Success will be measured not by our promises, but by whether people see and feel a difference in their lives.
My sincere thanks to the previous ambassadors: Jemilah Mahmood @JemilahMahmood, Manuel Bessler and Michael Köhler @MKoehlerEU for their leadership and dedication over the past three years.

As 2024 closes, I pay tribute to over 300 humanitarian workers who lost their lives this year – deadliest on record.
I hope that in 2025 international law is upheld, we see genuine accountability, and humanitarian workers are protected to serve those most in need.
