UK construction employment rose by 2.5% in 2024 Q4, it's 2nd successive quarterly rise (albeit from a very low base in 2024 Q2, when it had fallen to its lowest levels since 2001) & was only 0.4% lower than a year ago according to the ONS. (1/n) #ukconstruction #ukhousing

The Government has today announced its priorities for the Planning and Infrastructure Bill, which will be introduced in the spring to speed up 150 major infrastructure projects and support the delivery of 1.5 million new homes over this Parliament.
We are going further and faster to deliver the government’s Plan for Change, to kickstart economic growth and put more pounds in people’s pockets. Today @RachelReevesMP will unveil plans for the Oxford-Cambridge Growth Corridor that will boost the economy by up to £78bn by 2035.

I’ve long argued that housing targets are an essential part of getting more homes built in the UK, so delighted to see @RachelReevesMP sticking to her manifesto commitment! Now to focus on how MMC is an essential part of deliver. #mmc #sustainablehomes

Whatever your political leanings, we still need to build more homes. All parties need to be honest in accepting this and working out a plan on how to do so.
