#HappyBirthday #AshokChavan @AshokChavan1958

Convened a joint inspection round at Nariman Point and brought five BMC departments onto the ground together, SWD, SWM, Encroachment, Maintenance and Traffic, alongside the residents of the area. We walked the stretch together and took up every issue on the spot. Problems on a single stretch often cut across departments, such as a drain chamber blocked by an encroachment or a footpath damaged by a utility cut, so each one was assigned to the department responsible there and then. The officers have been directed to act on every point and report back, and I will review compliance on each item until it is closed. Under the leadership of Hon. Chief Minister, Shri Devendra Fadnavis Ji, and the Hon. Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and MLA of Colaba, Shri Rahul Narwekar Ji, the uniform stalls we have been working towards for the Causeway since 2024 are becoming a reality. Colaba Causeway is getting 91 uniform stalls for eligible vendors holding BMC's QR code-based identity cards. The ₹2.28 crore project is fully funded through DPDC funds, and Colaba is the first area in the city to receive such stalls. Colaba is a heritage precinct, and the Causeway is its busiest street. The stalls give vendors a proper, organised place to work, and they leave the footpath clearer, so residents, shoppers and tourists can walk the Causeway with far more ease. A uniform look also suits the character of the precinct and strengthens its appeal as a shopping destination. The first lot is expected in the coming weeks. @narendramodi @NitinNabin @AmitShah @BJP4India

We have launched Hello A Ward, a WhatsApp chatbot that makes it simple for the residents of Colaba, Cuffe Parade and Fort to take a civic problem to the BMC. Save +91 91378 39951 and send a message. If something in your area needs the BMC’s attention, such as uncollected garbage, a damaged road or a water problem, tell the chatbot and it will register a complaint ticket for you, all within the chat. If you would like to meet you can put in a request the same way, at a time that suits you. There is no app to install and no form to fill. Keep the number saved and use it the next time you need the BMC’s help. We have begun work on a new pilot line for the storm water drain (SWD) near Sunflower Apartment, GD Somani Road, with coconut-breaking ceremony followed by pooja. The line adds carrying capacity to the existing SWD network on this stretch. Surface runoff from the road and the adjoining catchment gets a dedicated path to the outfall, which takes load off the drains already in service. The BMC SWD department and the contractor have been directed to work to the approved alignment and specifications, with the line and its chambers inspected at each stage. Progress will be reviewed against the work schedule, and I will be tracking it until the line is commissioned.
