I think bad guys peered into the text exchanges, impersonated Rick Grenell, including misspelling the Kennedy Center, and had them wire to a Texas company—but not really a Texas company, a phony bank account with a similar name—$17.6 million, and took it off of Alina Habba's husband.

A brief pause from the news to share something from the heart.
When the clock strikes midnight tonight, our book, WTF America?!: The Way Out of This Hell and Back to Democracy, will officially be out in the world.
It’s hard to put into words what this moment means to us.
Whether you’ve been with us since we started MeidasTouch six years ago, whether you joined us somewhere along the way, or whether you’re seeing our names for the very first time in this post, we just want to say thank you.
Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for giving us a chance. Thank you for being part of this journey.
And thank you for bearing with us as we’ve promoted this book over the past several weeks. We know we’ve talked about it a lot!
The truth is, we don’t have the massive promotional budgets or the access to cable news and traditional media that so many other authors have. We’ve never had those advantages. What we do have is something infinitely more meaningful to us: you. The Meidas Mighty. This incredible pro-democracy community we’ve built together.
You’ve helped us build something we could have never imagined when we started this journey. And you’ve done it by showing up, by spreading the word, by refusing to give up, and by believing that our voices matter.
This book is, in many ways, our life’s work. It’s the culmination of years of reporting, organizing, fighting, learning, and growing alongside all of you.
It’s the story of how we got into this mess. It’s the story of the millions of everyday people who refused to back down in the face of authoritarianism. And most importantly, it’s about how we find our way out of this hell and back to democracy.
It’s as much your story as it is ours.
