Once again the Navy is trying to move the goalposts on shutting down Red Hill. They wanna take 5 years to shutdown while our water is threatened everyday. AND they wanna leave their toxic tanks in place, even after they poisoned 100k people
The Navy is proposing that its World War II-era fuel storage tanks and pipelines at Red Hill be permanently closed by August 2027 and stay in place after they are drained of fuel, according to a plan submitted to the Hawaii health department on Tuesday.

The Navy had known for years the Red Hill was falling apart. They knew hours before thousands of gallons of fuel spilled from their facility that catastrophe was imminent and instead of stopping it, they operated as normal and tried to cover up their failure.

A new report shows that the Red Hill facility showed critical system warnings hours before the fuel spill that poisoned Oʻahu's water. This once again shows that the Navy had ample warning that something was wrong and chose to do nothing. They willingly poisoned us.

Well, I feel validated. I am just curious if anyone is calling the Chamber of Commerce alarmist and extreme for all their sky-is-falling rhetoric about the economy failing if we paid higher wages. How many years did they obstruct progress that most people support?
