So happy to share the second paper from my @NIHRSPHR PhD studentship!!
New paper from @M_Keeble on pre-pandemic online food delivery service access in England. A median of 63 outlets available online per postcode district (median 23,610 population). Access greatest in most deprived districts where the figure is 106.

ALT Title and highlights from the paper linked in the tweet. Title Socioeconomic inequalities in food outlet access through an online food deliver service in England. Highlights Online food delivery services provide access to food prepared away-from-home. We describe ‘online’ access to outlets selling this food across England. Around one-third of food outlets were registered to accept orders online. Online food outlet access increases existing neighbourhood food outlet access. Online food outlet access was greatest in the most deprived areas.
Pleased to see this work published.
Thank you, as always, to colleagues for their guidance and support.
New paper from @M_Keeble exploring public acceptability of local planning restrictions on new takeaways around schools. 51% of adults support, 37% neutral, 9% opposed. Thus new proposals are unlikely to be met with substantial public disapproval tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.…
Not a supermarket, but I took this picture yesterday....
"Supermarkets in England 'blatantly disregarding' rules over where they place crisps, sweets and fizzy drinks" 1/4 of 25 stores visited by @OHA_updates @food_active are still putting 'less healthy' foods in prominent locations theguardian.com/society/2023…

Proud to share our recent study exploring online food delivery in Europe. The study spans 7 countries (🏴🇮🇹🇱🇺🇳🇱🇵🇹🇪🇸🇨🇭). 🏴🇳🇱 have the highest availability of online food outlets, and higher income areas generally boast more online food outlet options. tinyurl.com/55rwkhxy

I enjoyed the Defaced exhibit @FitzMuseum_UK so much that I visited twice...
Great time this morning @FitzMuseum_UK at the #Defaced exhibit before it closes tomorrow. Some very powerful pieces, but this quote I think captures what it means to be from a poorer (working class?) background well, as well as within and between country poverty
I also raved about it to @jackmbirch, who took the above picture
Really interesting reading for a Monday morning!
Another thoughtful paper from Kim Anastasiou and her colleagues at Deakin. This one analyses the terms used and definitions given to ‘foods to limit’ in dietary guidelines around the world, including changes over time and regional differences. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3645…
