Angel is so scary man. She's so sweet and pleasant in interviews, and during the game she's a fuckin psycho. I've seen some crazy fuckers in basketball before but I've never seen anybody like Angel who is in full control of the switch. She has this composed chaos. She's unique.

My biggest takeaway from watching this series is that the Liberty need to be better defensively. Every possession is difficult on the offense. The Liberty are so easy for offenses to play against.

My take has always been that the level of pimpage should be proportionate to HR distance. You can't act like this after wrapping a 300 foot blooper around the pole.

Sometime in the early to mid 90's -and this is before the analytics movement really crystallized it- somebody in the Yankees organization realized that getting on base drives offense, and it really doesn't matter how you do it. As the years have passed, they now care very deeply about how you do it. They're really caught up in microanalytics -- a specific exit velo, on a specific part of the bat, on a specific swing. These can be very useful. Ben Rice is a "the scouts are overlooking how hard he hits the ball" product. The problem is, the Yankees have become willing to give up objective offensive performance -OBP, OPS, WOBA- for guys that barrell a lot, thinking they're all a minor adjustment away from turning into Ben Rice. They're forgetting the most famous quote from Moneyball: "If he's a good hitter, why doesn't he hit good?"
