Macmillan Fest

Dear @BorisJohnson I'd really like a meeting to talk about the grassroots music venue circuit. So I'm sending you a roll of wallpaper, as I believe that's how this works. Should arrive Monday, when can I meet someone?

Operation Sleeping Beauty will require innovation, invention, risk management and mitigation, crowd management. That’s the skill set of our world-beating live music industry. Please can you bring us closer in to these discussions so we can help.

I’m absolutely delighted to hear it exists, many other representatives of the live music industry will be similarly pleased. We already have a raft of ideas to increase capacities, and want those to be part of it. But I remain puzzled why I have to find out it exists from a tweet

Can I also highlight, once again, that I am a member of the Venues Working Group developing stage 5 of the return of indoor performances and have never heard of Operation Sleeping Beauty.

For this to work the government needs to change position and ‘reward’ operators who implement measures to mitigate risk with permitted higher capacity. As it stands, a highly ventilated & protected, fully tested, audience is as restricted as one without any additional measures.
