In honor of Ken Hagan reintroducing the idea of Hillsborough tax dollars for the Rays:
This is the video of what happened when I tried to ask Ken Hagan questions about the #Rays financials he is negotiating on behalf of Hillsborough County: physical restraint and politician in full sprint.

The issues include:
“Luxury suites for DC Government and the DC Council”
@MayorBowser wants to make sure that she uses DC residents tax dollars to get herself and the city council a luxury suite for capitals and wizards games.
THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE
Mayor Bowser and Ted Leonsis struck a $515 Million agreement (in principle) to keep the Capitals and Wizards in DC. But we discovered, the deal STILL is not finalized. And time is running out.... @wusa9

Apparently a consultant pitching the A’s move to LV claimed that teams don’t typically attract tourists but that LV is different. So I analyzed LV hotel data from Oct ‘15 to Sept ‘19, a four-year period covering the first two seasons of the Aces and Knights ….

A’s fans, I added up the number of tickets sold (yes, I went section by section and added totals; took hours). As of right now, it looks like only 14,700 tickets have been sold for the 13th. We need to boost these numbers! Please retweet and tag organizers of the reverse protest

It's all but official: the special session will begin tonight at 8PM and #SB509 is not on the agenda. #Athletics #RootedInOakland
Gov. @JosephMLombardo has signed the proclamation for the 34th special session, containing *only* the capital improvement projects budget and *not* Oakland A’s stadium. The could still come in another special, however.

Hearing from sources that a proclamation for a special session will be arriving shortly and that there are two planned special sessions.
One focused on the Capital Improvement Program budget, and another on building a stadium for the Oakland A's.

If giving public money to large, multi-billion dollar private sector stadium projects is great for Vegas job growth, then why is public money not given to new casinos that are built?

People always ask me why owners of certain MLB teams won't sell. The answer is easy. If someone offered to pay you $25m or so a year and all you have to do is let everyone in the city and the industry yell at you every day, would you take the job ?
