In which a golfer discovers that the soul of a ball is actually its aerodynamic properties decaying over the span of its pathetic and miserable life!
Hot take: Never replace a damaged ball after a par.
Felt this gouge after the 14th hole. Thought about replacing it, but listened to my rule. Finished 1 under rest of the way.
I say golf balls have their own soul. A good golf ball will fight for par. A brand new one may fly right into the woods. So better to fight with the wounded soldier.

Pleasantly surprised that my revenue on @Fab has been up > 50% YTD from 2025
even though I have totally disappeared from the Unreal Engine world this year.
Has the vibecoding era minted more game developers and thus more Fab users?

There are two bodies of law here.
- Copyright law.
- Contract law (Epic's EULA, and the license agreement each game developer chooses for their game, are contracts.)
If an AI company downloaded Unreal Engine today and trained on its output, the court reasoning of the Anthropic decision suggests that would not be a copyright violation.
But it would be a breach of contract because they'd agreed to the EULA (which today prohibits training on outputs) and then violated it. Our upcoming EULA change removes that contractual restriction on training on our, Epic's, engine outputs.
Each game developer releasing a game can release it with their own license that says whatever they want. An AI company that gets and agreed to a license is then bound by it. If they violated the license, the developer could litigate a breach of contract.

The biggest lie in AI is that the future belongs to one winner.
Every technology wave starts with one company promising that one walled garden is all you'll ever need. And every time, market forces and creativity break the walls down.
I cofounded OpenSea and now OpenRouter around the opposite bet: humanity will refuse to be locked in.
Intelligence was never meant to belong to one lab, one model, or one gatekeeper.
The future of AI is open, plural, and yours to choose.

it’s a pointless disclosure, the levels of nuance of AI assisted are not decipherable by any normal gamer and honestly most devs still

Still in high school in NYC and running two things on the side: website redesigns at Kefy Studio and podcast clips at Kefy Clips.
If either sounds useful feel free to DM!!
the tools we do use are the ones we're forced to use; their discussion boards and review system is archaic and we endure these friction points ( and the % cut ) because Steam reaches a huge audience. That's it. That's their only advantage. It's _not_ technological.

We use basically none of these thing offered, and using most tools offered by steam is unwieldy.

I'm still PISSED that Steam removed the RPG Maker tag.
Every day I go to Steam, start to search for RPG Maker games, and am rudely reminded that they are forever dead and buried.
Literally why did they do this!?

Funny and here I've heard that people care about what tools were used, maybe they should add mandatory disclosure for used engine?
