We've reviewed 16 privacy protocols to understand what they actually hide, who they hide it from, and what's still visible.
How do we assess them? We've published our full methodology, and we'd love your feedback ๐

What if @ethereum could verify ZK proofs itself, so rollups and apps wouldn't need to run their own verifiers?
This could be achieved through native proof verification.
And we've made some progress there over the past month: the draft for EIP-8357 was merged, and a native rollup is now running on a devnet ๐

Most DAO voting happens in public - you can look up a wallet and see exactly how it voted, which allows for bribery and voter pressure. In real-world elections, the secret ballot is an internationally recognised standard that exists to prevent exactly that.
@theInterfold CRISP tries to solve this for onchain voting by keeping individual votes private while making the final results public.
We've added it to the L2BEAT Privacy dashboard. Here's how it works and who you need to trust ๐

Introducing Safe Rollup. Ethereum-anchored, operator-controlled.
Safe as in Safe multisig, not safe funds.
Safe Rollup gives institutions the credibility of Ethereum and the control of a database. Live on Sepolia today.

So, when moon? To see USDC at 1.20$ xD
JUST IN: Visa officially launches stablecoin payments through Visa Direct, enabling near-instant global payouts using $USDC across 180+ countries.

Would you like privacy with frontier AI models? Yes? Well, right now itโs impossible, because we donโt know how.
But we can try to get closer, which is what @ethereumfndn and @OpenAnonProject have been trying to do by co-developing zkAPI!
zkAPI is now listed on our Privacy page. It is a service that offers short-lived OpenRouter keys for ETH through an intermediary called Open Anonymity. You deposit into a shared pool, but your API key request to them contains only a proof that you have deposited, unlinking your specific deposit from the key.

The same token can carry very different risks depending on which chain you hold it on and how it was minted.
Some deployments depend only on the chain and issuer. Others add bridge risks that can even affect holders who never bridged.
Here are the differences ๐
Hay gente que le gusta leer y logran entender todo a la primera, pero a otros como yo, les gusta mas los diagramas, para mi son mucho mas entendibles.
Que bueno es por fin tener un mapeo como este.

Most privacy protocols don't make you invisible, they help you blend in with other users. But if your behaviour stands out, it can still give you away.
That's why the size of the crowd matters and we've added a new metric to measure this crowd - the anonymity set.
An anonymity set is the number of users your transfer could have come from. The bigger that group, the harder it is to single you out.
ยฟ
Today weโre launching Blobs - a new page to follow Ethereum blob activity in real time!
Blobs also replaces DABEAT, which weโre sunsetting because @ethereum has plenty of unused blob capacity, and that capacity will only keep growing. We explain the decision in more detail in the article linked below.
An anon walks into a bar.
Bartender: โThe usual?โ
Anon: โHow do you know?โ
Bartender: โYouโre the only one still holding that NFT.โ
We have a special treat for you at Lฬต2ฬตPrivacyBEAT today: an amazing treasure hunt to unleash your inner @zachxbt! ๐
This was originally part of an internal workshop, but now weโre opening it up to you! All details here: privacyhunt.gwei.domains/ or in the thread below.
Los hackeos los pusieron a todos pilas ๐
Yesterday, @zksync Era officially increased its execution delay on Ethereum from 3h to 24h, following the rules settled by ZIP-17.
This parameter change was implemented via the deployment of an updated ValidatorTimelock contract.
Here is the explainer ๐
Es solo el comienzo ;)
Programs on the world computer are not immutable.
Some contracts have not changed since 2021. Some reset last month.
Ossification is the metric for that difference. Because eminent scientists agree: Battle-tested, public code is safer.
We just launched the Ossification page as a first step toward the S in CROPS ๐ฝ

Superchain chains are now closer to getting ecosystem-wide interop, and OP Mainnet, @inkonchain, @soneium, and @unichain are set for the transition! ๐
@Optimism Upgrade 20 introduced the initial onchain infrastructure for native interop among its chain members.
Although interop itself is not yet available, the four Superchain chains are now proposing their state roots as "super roots", an interop-ready format that will be used to compose a shared state root across the chains in an interop set.
