Great question(s). Following this thread, as I also have teenagers. Funeral home entreprenour and plumber were among my suggestions, but for some reason not appreciated by my own kids. In Finland, those jobs pay well, and they are not the first to be taken over by AI 🤷♀️.

As one who made the same decision (after almost 20 years in academia), I could not agree more. Best of luck to you. I have not regretted my choice once, although I do miss the people (and even the work at times).
