Breaking: The U.S. Department of the Treasury sanctions Georgia’s de facto Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri.
It’s a bad day for him — just hours earlier, he was also sanctioned by the UK.

❗President @Zourabichvili_S 's address to the @EUparliament today was historic.
Yet, 🇬🇪 Public Broadcaster funded by taxpayers refused to air it. For context, GPB’s budget exceeds that of 🇬🇪's 3 of top5 cities.
This silence speaks volumes,

Georgia has only one legitimate president who represents the will of the Georgian people and stands as the sole truly independent state institution. Supporting @Zourabichvili_S at this critical moment for the region means supporting the European aspirations of Georgian citizens, defending democracy, upholding the rule of law, and resisting authoritarianism.
World leaders, especially women leaders, must continue recognizing her as the only legitimate spokesperson of the Georgian people. Any leader who chooses to congratulate or communicate with the illegitimate president installed by Georgian Dream today will forever tarnish their name and reputation in the eyes of Georgians. Such a betrayal will not be forgotten by those fighting for a free, democratic, and European Georgia.
