Capital gains taxes make no sense & shouldn't exist I invest my capital. I create the opportunity. I take the risk. I do the work. I take the chances. I accept the losses if things go wrong So why should the government collect a slice when things go right? They didn’t take the risk. They didn’t build the business. They just take

You’re too scared to walk to the shop, let your kids play outside, drive at night, or roll down your windows. Always looking over your shoulder, locked behind high walls, electric fences, and security gates. Told who you can work for, who you can hire, who you can do business with, what you can earn, own, save, or leave behind for your children one day. But happy Freedom Day, South Africa.

The Flowcode (flowcode.co.za) launch was a huge success. Big thanks to @MarkSham and his team from the Tryst who helped my team with this important moment. The response has been amazing, and the enquiries from demo's has not stopped since the launch. Flowcode is a business operating system that helps entrepreneurs build strategy and most importantly, to help them manage the execution of that strategy.

Our most watched video of all-time is all about South Africa's most luxurious petrol station. After eating there for the first time, we knew we had to make a little video about the experience but we had NO CLUE that people would be this interested: youtu.be/UqdYb7-rqT4 It's short, it's sweet, and it will make you hungry. Just a warning to not watch on an empty stomach 🤣

The Graskop Gorge Lift is the first of its kind in South Africa. A glass-bottomed elevator takes visitors 51 metres down the side of a cliff into the Afromontane forest of the gorge below 😍 When you visit the Graskop Gorge Lift, you realise what a feat of engineering skill it was to construct, but it's the Afromontane forest below that is at the heart of this experience. In South Africa, Afromontane forests cover only 0.5% of the country’s land area. They occur in pockets along mountain ranges in well-watered areas, including ravines and south-facing slopes. Under the vivid green canopy of trees lies a lush wonderland filled with a spectacular variety of plants, animals, insects and birds. ✅ The viewing lift takes visitors 51m down the face of the gorge into the indigenous forest below, where wooden walkways & suspension bridges make up a 600m trail. ✅ Some facts to note: 240 tons of concrete in the foundation. 88 tons of steel in the shaft. Lift was manufactured by Otis. The distance from the base to the top of the shaft is 60m. The lift travels at 1m/s and takes one minute to go down. ✅ The trail below has a number of interpretation exhibits and includes information about the forest, its biodiversity, water conservation, birds and insects. It includes giant replicas of indigenous mushrooms, a huge stained-glass display and much more. ✅ The trail takes about an hour to complete. ✅ The first 100m or so do not have any steps or steep inclines or declines so are very accessible to all, even people in wheelchairs. ✅ The spectacular 52m-long Suspension Bridge spans the northern and southern sides of the gorge. Enjoy breath-taking views while standing 70m above the ground. ✅ The Big Swing is one of the world’s highest cable gorge swings and launches off the top of a waterfall. The experience is very different to a bungee-jump because participants freefall for 70m before the jump rope pulls them into a high-speed arch and they swing from one side of the gorge to the other. When falling, they reach 140km/h in three seconds ✅ Visitors to the centre who still want to get their hearts racing but who think the Big Swing is too extreme for them, can choose to fly across the gorge on a high-wire Zipline. This stop is another reason why the Panorama Route in Mpumalanga is such a treasure to South Africa. Three Rondavels, Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window, several waterfalls, and then Graskop Gorge all within 50km of each other 🇿🇦❤️ It's truly difficult to show you what it's like down there but I'm telling you, there is no substitute for being here in-person. We were genuinely blown away for a full hour down there. I'm BEGGING you. Get into that car, drive the Panorama Route, stop at all these spots, and then you will be begging others to do the same. PS. Please share any pictures you have of your experience at Graskop. We would love to see how it was for you.

Sorcery Coffee Roasters in Pretoria lived up to the hype and is worth driving 48km to visit from Joburg ☕️ The views are Instagram worthy, the coffee is as strong and beautiful as the Springbok scrum, and the pomegranate cheesecake is neck-and-neck the best I've ever had 😍 Located inside the Diep in die Berg venue, Sorcery Coffee is nestled in the Bronberg Mountain Range within the ruins of an ancient farm, and offers the most incredible view over the ridge of the Pretoria suburbs. Sorcery Coffee offer several varieties of coffee, as well as an array of cakes, brownies, croissants, quiches, etc. As always, I had a black Americano while Jeandre had a freezo. We also both devoured a slice of their pomegranate cheesecake while taking in the views. All I can say is that the time spent traveling to Sorcery Coffee Roasters was worth it and you have to visit yourself to understand how amazing this place is. Thanks to @SasolSA, @KiaSouthAfrica, and @Veldskoenshoes, we will be on a mission in 2024 to discover and showcase many more amazing spots just like Sorcery Coffee Roasters. This place is surely well-known to locals but I'm also sure many Joburgers don't know about them. Now you do! PS. Tag someone that you'd like to join you at Sorcery. Let them know about this magical place. And if you've ever been to Sorcery Coffee Roasters in Pretoria, please share any pictures you have of your experience in the comments section. We love to see what your experience looked like at the places we've visited.

Themed around the legend of a lost African tribe, The Palace of the Lost City is an unforgettable hotel that was opened inside of the fun-packed Sun City resort in 1992. I had never stayed at The Palace before but a few weeks ago, we got a call asking if we'd like to join them for a weekend and make a video about our experience. Who were we to turn down this opportunity? 🤣 I used to visit Sun City often as a kid and I have very nostalgic memories of this place, but the last few times I was here, I felt like Sun City had dated a bit. To my pleasant surprise, things have turned around here because of many revamps and a renewed desire to attract South Africans back to their "holiday home". As I have no prior experience with The Palace, all I can tell you is that our stay was magical. The best part was getting a private tour with a very enthusiastic manager who shared incredible details with us. For example: ✅ The ceiling in the lobby took 5,000 hours to hand-paint by nine artists. ✅ It took 440 gardeners over two years to plant 1.6 million plants & 6 000 trees to create their "jungle". ✅ The chandelier in the Crystal court is made up of 10,000 pieces of rock crystal from the Czech Republic. The number represents the amount of people who worked to complete the Lost Palace and Valley of the Waves in a record 28-months. ✅ Nearly every item in The Palace was custom-made and 85% of all materials were sourced within southern Africa. This was the first time that hand-carved furniture was used throughout the public areas and guestrooms of a hotel. Our Sun City video is about two weeks away from being uploaded and we can't wait to share the magic with all of you. The excitement is at an all-time high because we really loved our weekend there. But now it's your turn. When last did you visit Sun City and what was your experience like? I genuinely would love to know!

Nieu-Bethesda is a small village in the Eastern Cape about 50km from Graaff-Reinet. There are no tarred roads, animals roam freely, the architecture is quaint and quirky, there's no petrol stations or ATM machines, and yet everything works as it should 🇿🇦❤️ It's hard to capture the charm of Nieu-Bethesda in just four pictures and they don't adequately describe how wonderful this place really is 🥰 In times gone by, agriculture was the driving force of Nieu-Bethesda’s economy; the region’s Angora goats and Karoo lamb are famous. Nowadays much of the industry is based around art. There are craft shops and galleries, potteries and sculpture gardens – most famously, the late Helen Martins’ extraordinary “Owl House”. Life is beautifully simple in Nieu-Bethesda but that doesn't mean it's boring. Everyone is incredibly friendly, there's a real sense of community, and you feel at peace when you visit. The village has preserved its authentic Karoo character and ambience whilst being open to visitors looking to experience the tranquillity and the beauty of its natural surroundings. So why should any of you visit? Well I think the secret sauce of Nieu-Bethesda are the people that live in it. Everyone has a unique story as to how they landed up in Nieu-Bethesda but they all agree that they love it there, and you truly feel it when you visit. Big love to @SasolSA for helping us get here and also to @KiaSouthAfrica for our Sorrento. Last but not least, big love to @Veldskoenshoes for being our road trip partner. PS. Have you ever been to Nieu-Bethesda? If so, please describe your experience in the comments section so that others can get a better sense of the magic of Nieu-Bethesda 🪄

Boschendal is one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa and is located between Franschhoek and Stellenbosch in South Africa's Western Cape. Having visited twice recently, I can tell you there isn’t a single aspect of the farm that isn’t world-class. The food is some of the best value for money, the gardens are beautiful, the artisanal shop and deli will have you spending your kids’ college fund, and the tranquility is worth paying an entrance fee for (there is no entrance fee). One extra special shout-out. Their cheesecake has had me daydreaming about returning ever since I left ❤️

This is your brain on sleep deprivation. Scientists in Canada launched the largest study on how lack of sleep affects the brain. They created games that tested skills like reasoning, language comprehension & decision making. They had one participant repeat these tests in an MRI machine. Here's what they found: On the left is a normal night of sleep. On the right is when it's deprived of 4 hours of sleep. The colored areas are the activity happening in your brain. Notice the lack of activity on the right side. Researchers found there was less activity in the frontal & parietal lobes, which are crucial for decision making, problem solving & mood control. You are simply not at your best when you don't get enough sleep. Another study done at the University of Oslo found that lack of sleep leads to reduced clearance of substances from the brain. These substances are many of the same waste products that are seen to accumulate in the brains of Alzheimer's patients. Some recent studies suggest that poor sleep contributes to higher levels of beta-amyloid protein in the brain, which lead to the amyloid plaques found in the Alzheimer's brain. If you want a healthy brain avoid long term sleep deprivation. What should you do? • When deprived of sleep avoid making big decisions & pause before reacting to an emotion. • Fix your sleeping habits. If you can't get enough hours, focus on increasing your sleep quality to make up for it. Sleep is the best legal performance enhancing drug on the planet. Make it a priority now so you can protect your brain for later.
