#Ootd is this Dior's Virevolte wool tweed suit. In the fall/winter 1955 collection he introduced his "Y-line," which focused on the collar, neck, and shoulders while narrowing down to the torso and hips. Hence the jacket's stiff collar and the dress' faux scarf. #Fashionhistory

🚨 BREAKING: A missing memory card has FLIPPED the apparent outcome of a Georgia House race. Republican Gerald Greene went from trailing Democrat Harry James by 58 votes to LEADING by 262 after uncounted votes were discovered in Seminole County. Officials found a 388-vote discrepancy during routine checks. If the result holds, Democrats will have just a ONE-SEAT majority in the Georgia House. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has launched an investigation into the error. Maybe Democrats can agree that we should now go to ALL PAPER BALLOTS?

William and Catherine, the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, visiting the WWI Centennial art installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, at the Tower of London in 2014. The installation had 888,246 ceramic poppies which filled the Tower’s moat. William and Catherine each planted a poppy during their visit. 🇬🇧 Earlier today, the Duchess of Gloucester, on behalf of the Queen, attended the Opening of the 98th Year of the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey. The Duchess was greeted by the Dean of Westminster, The Very Revd David Hoyle, & President of The Poppy Factory, Vice Admiral Sir David Steel. After prayers were said, the Duchess planted a cross before the Last Post is sounded. The Exhortation to Remembrance was read by Vice Admiral Steel ahead of a two-minute silence. Her Royal Highness was then invited to review the plots, meeting service personnel, veterans & their families. Amongst them was crosses laid by The Rifles, The Royal Lancers & The Grenadier Guards, of which Queen Camilla is Colonel. Crosses have also been laid by The Royal Army Chaplains' Department, The Submariners Association (HMS ASTUTE), The RAF Association (RAF Halton & Leeming), New Zealand, Canada, Australia as well as the Royal Navy Medical Service.

This is such a MAGNIFICENT tiara and my all time favorite 😍
The Fife tiara at Kensington Palace. Made from nearly 200 carats of diamonds, this magnificent tiara was presented to Princess Louise—granddaughter of Queen Victoria—as a wedding gift from her husband in 1889. The piece is adorned with hundreds of exceptional diamonds, varying in size from one to ten carats. Among its most striking features is a collection of elegant pear-shaped diamonds mounted on delicate pivots, designed to shimmer and catch the light brilliantly with every movement.

Vivien Leigh reading in the sitting room of Durham Cottage, Chelsea in 1937. It was the first home she shared with Laurence Olivier, though both were still married, she to Leigh Holman, and Olivier to actress Jill Esmond. Olivier later spoke of his guilt: “No man could resist Vivien. I tried. I felt very guilty about being unfaithful to Jill. I’d been unfaithful before, but this was different. This was the real thing. It wasn’t a fling. It was an unasked for, once in a lifetime love.” When Olivier was dying, and married to Joan Plowright, he constantly went through scrapbooks containing photographs of himself and Leigh. What Plowright thought of this, one can only imagine.
